Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Classic by Eric Carle All of Eric Carle's books are great. The stories are adorable and the pictures are unique and colourful. This one is no different. The story centres around the topic of bullying and all the children I've read it to find it hilarious. Great read.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle After I had read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” I really wanted to read more books by Eric Carle. “The Grouchy Ladybug” is definitely no exception in reading some of Eric Carle’s great works! “The Grouchy Ladybug” is a Laura Ingalls Wilder award –winning book by Eric Carle and it is about how a grouchy ladybug tries to pick a fight with the other animals no matter how large they are. “The Grouchy Ladybug” is truly one of the most hilarious books about the consequences of bullying that every child will definitely enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great book to read when you're feeling grouchy Carle's story explores the concepts of time, size and manners through the exploits of one very grouchy ladybug. When it refuses to share aphids with another ladybug, the grouchy insect flies off to pick a fight an hour with a succession of ever-larger animals. Kids will love the way the tension seems to build in the story. Will the ladybug get its comeuppance? Or will it learn to mind its manners? (If you don't remember, you'll just have to read it yourself to find out!) Carle employs his almost trademarked tissue paper and tempera collages to great effect here as he renders more than a dozen different animals. He includes a clock face at the top of each page, to help kids track the passing of time. A good book to read when you or your little one is in a grouchy mood. This is one of those classic picture books that doesn't lose anything in the translation to board book. If anything, it is improved since the die-cut pages hold up a lot better when they are made of thick board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Children's Book I absolutely love this book. The pictures and the cut of the pages are unique and wonderful. When I read this to my class, they loved the story and it kept their interest because of the interesting cut of the pages. It was very helpful in the understanding of clocks and telling time. When we were finished with this book we made ladybug clocks to help with the math unit on time. Overall, a really super book!
