THE HOUSE AT HOMECOMING COVE
Seeking out solitude in which to work, New York City music composer Melissa Carter rents a century-old farmhouse on the Virginia Eastern Shore. There, she meets a loner with rugged good looks and smoldering gray eyes, who has long-term ties to the property. When strange things start occurring at the historic home, the handsome groundskeeper comes to her aid, but is Melissa really safer in his arms?

When Stone Thomas meets a pretty northerner with a musical gift, he's immediately drawn to her. He's also determined to protect her from the increasingly odd happenings at the fifty-acre farm where he's employed. Soon, Stone finds himself wondering whether he and beautiful Melissa might share a future. Yet the secrets of Homecoming Cove threaten to drive them apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enduring love Do you believe that love endures and that patterns repeat throughout the ages until the right people have the perfect love that is meant to be. In this story, the author brings this promise to the reader with the romance of Melissa and Stone. The main characters in the story have had failed relationships and challenges that have brought them to this point and place in time. The author draws in the reader into the story with these unique characters who discover as the plot deepens that they have a historical connection to the house featured in the story. The plot darkens with the historical bent to the story. A tingling, nerve bending, finish keeps the reader on edge to the last pages of the book. I received and ARC for review. I loved the challenges of the book and would highly recommend reading it. It is a perfect book for a book club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from intriguing This was an interesting story of how Melissa goes to rent a house on the coast to get a bit of peace. She does not really find it, but does find comfort with Stone Thomas when strange happenings occur at the house. I found myself keeping reading to see what would happen next and to see if they could get to the bottom of it. I received a copy of this book to review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ghostly Romantic! I loved this story by Ginny Baird! If you like stories by Victoria Holt you will most definitely like this one. Melissa Carter leaves New York City for a quiet place to work and to get a much needed break from the city. She thinks she finds it in a rental that is on the Virginia Eastern Shore. She meets a ruggedly handsome loner who does work around the property who from the very beginning takes it upon himself to be her protector when strange things start happening. Stone Thomas is almost instantly attracted to Melissa and finds himself determined to protect her when strange and dangerous things begin happening around the property. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great story Great story! Do you believe in ghosts? Maybe not now, but you might by the time you finish this story. Melissa Carter has rented a 100-year-old house at Homecoming Cove in eastern Virginia to work on her music in peace and quiet. Instead, she finds Stone Thomas, the handsome groundskeeper, and some very disturbing events—piano playing with no one there being just one (and the least threatening) of all of them. Melissa and Stone are instantly attracted to each other, but the mysterious, unexplained events surrounding them seem to be trying to tear them apart. Who will win—Melissa, Stone or the ghosts? I was surprised, but very pleased, when I found out the source and purpose of the mysterious happenings. I think you will be too, which is why I would recommend this book to everyone. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author to read and give my honest opinion, which I have done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful story I totally loved this story. Ginny Baird is a great contemporary romance writer but I think she makes an exceptional romantic suspense writer. I loved the build up of the story from the start, the suspense along the way and the beautiful ending. Some of the reviews mentioned that there were too much details but I loved the details. I could just picture the old farmhouse in my mind, with the forgotten rose garden and the beautiful surroundings. I love the music too.. somehow I felt that I could just hear the music playing. Really hope that Ginny will continue to write such stories. **** I received an eBook copy from the author for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Romantic and Suspenseful The House at Homecoming Cove by Ginny Baird was such a delight to read with its romance and mystery excellently intertwined thought the story. Melissa is a music composer who rents out a historical fifty acre farmhouse on the Virginia Eastern Shore in order to work in peace. As soon as she arrives she comes across Stone; he is the groundskeeper for the magnificent farmhouse. Stone is quickly attracted to Melissa. He also has some ties to the farmhouse. Odd and mysterious things start to occur and Stone is determined to protect Melissa. Love blooms between the two but secrets of Homecoming Cove could push them away. Is them being apart better for them both or are they safer together? Do they get their happily ever after? I just loved this book. Ginny's story keeps you intrigued from start to finish. The characters are superbly portrayed. I, personally, just loved both Melissa and Stone. The romance and suspense is well executed. Mrs. Baird knocked this one out of the ballpark. Yay Ginny! When mysterious things start happening in the house, Stone is there to protect Melissa. They start trying to solve the mystery, they soon feel like they have know each other forever. "May those who come together here, never fall apart." I highly recommend this book for a sweet romance with an element suspense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love in Virginia Melissa has rented a house on Homecoming Cove to get away from New York. She is overconfident heartbreak and writers block. She is a composer of music for soundtracks but has been in a rut for months. She feels connected with Stone instantly. Stone is the groundskeeper of the property at Homecoming Cove. He returned to the area after running boat charters in the Caribbean. He feels an instant connection to the new renter. They both have déjà vu upon meeting the first day. This connection continues to develop over the next few days. It only grows deeper as strange things keep happening to them. This story has a bit of mystery and lots of love in it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes mystery and sweet love stories. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-Written & Entertaining! Melissa Carter sets out to give herself a much-needed retreat at Homecoming Cove. She’s had a mental block for weeks and figures the solitude will give her the inspiration she needs to continue her work as a musical composer for television. However, she didn’t plan on the ruggedly handsome neighbor who has become quite a distraction. She tries to keep her distance, but when strange things start happening at the house at Homecoming Cove, Melissa and Stone are thrown together as they try to piece together the puzzle. Are the eerie things that are happening just a coincidence? Or is there some truth to the legends about the old place? I really enjoyed this book! I thought the story was well-thought out and executed perfectly. Melissa and Stone were both really likeable characters and they definitely have great chemistry. And the story regarding the old house was just beautiful. It was so entertaining and I just couldn’t wait to find out what was happening. I would definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to reading more by this author! (I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)

When strange things begin happening around the farm, his need to protect her is intense. The more they learn and discover about the place, the more they wonder if they were meant to be together. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Let the music draw you in Note: I was provided a complimentary copy for an honest review. Well, Ginny has done it again and given us another gripping romance with just the right balance of suspense and romance. Melissa is a musician who's in a slump. Her music seems to have dried up. So, in a last effort to revive her career, she heads to the eastern shoreline of Virginia, to an old farmhouse. There, she encounters Stone, who is currently working the grounds until he can get the motivation to pursue his dream of opening a museum. As soon as Stone and Melissa meet, they are drawn to each other - almost as if they have a past. But, that's impossible since they just met. They recognize the pull, but can't explain it. Yet, together, they feel complete - ready to reach for their dreams and make them happen. Unlike the previous two books in this series, the paranormal element begins early in the book. Melissa learns shortly after moving in that the house is considered haunted, but she's convinced that there's a logical explanation to everything - that is until it becomes all too real. Stone has heard the rumors too, but always dismissed them because he's never witnessed anything - until Melissa shows up. What is it about Melissa that's stirred up the ghosts of the past? Are there ghosts or is there an explanation? Is Melissa in danger? The plot develops nicely - giving just enough clues to keep you reading. The romance feels slightly steamier than the previous books in this series, but it still stays within the bounds of a PG rating. The language is clean, without anything offensive And, the end is satisfying with a good sense of closure. My rating - 5 stars.
