Rated 5 out of 5 by from Intellectual, suspenseful, and absolutely terrifying An excallent novel, reading this will let you understand why werewolves have been the stuff of nightmares for nearly all of history. Steve vance has brought us a horror that starts with a suspenseful story and then turns to pure heart stopping terror. It seems that today we lack truely horrifying werewolf novels or even regular horror novels. The only downside to "The Hyde Effect" is the terrible publishing that was done, however it will hardly be noticeable once you get into the book. Buy it, you will not be disappointed. I should also add that although there is no excessive use of vulger language or sexual content there is some violence and intense moments as well as some fairly intellectual disscusion which young children may not understand, I do not recomend it for anyone under 13. For anyone who may be interested there is a sequel to this novel "Shapes" by Steve Vance.
