Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Kindergarten and Separation Anxiety My daughter started off her kindergarten school year by crying and begging me not to make her go. It was heartbreaking. I reached out to other mothers going through the same situation, asking for help in easing my child's anxiety and fears of being away from me. Someone suggested this book and I'm so glad that they did. It is now the fifth week of school and my daughter happily trots off to the school bus without glancing back. She does, however, still ask for a kiss in each hand before she goes. LOVE this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful story My students constantly ask me to read this book!! An excellent story of being brave (especially for those struggling with their first days at school), and knowing that just because someone is not physically there, emotionally, their love lives on in us. A wonderful message. #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Kissing Hand (Chester the Raccoon #1) by Audrey Penn, Ruth E. Harpe Beautiful story for preschoolers and young school age children. A wonderful sentiment set to ease a child's fear about being away from his/her parents and home. The premise is that the love between those we love and those who love us doesn’t go away even when we’re not in their presence. This is such a cute book! i love the concept of how his mom will always be there with him if he misses her he can just put his palm on his cheek and he will feel better. The book also shows how children will mimic or model after the people around them like how chester gave his mom a kissing hand too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet storybook Perfect storybook to read to your children before entering school. My daughter's Kindergarten teacher read it to her class on the first day of school, and they then made their own "kissing hand" (handprint and a heart sticker in the middle) magnet, to put on the refrigerator. Very cute.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Mother's Love This is a great book to help your kids if they are just starting school or daycare and have to get used to the idea of being away from Mom or Dad. The little raccoon in this story is off to night school. His mom places a kiss in his hand so he won't be lonely and so he has a little part of her to take with him. A very sweet story.
