about

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor’s secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han Solo and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack, while Princess Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

The Republic has one last hope—sending a small force into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn’s terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C’baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Last Command, by Timothy Zahn What can I say about this book except for "WOW". Zahn brings these story lines to a conclusion worthy of George Lucas himself. As you read this book, John Williams' soundtrack thunders through your mind. A superb read that even non-Star Wars fans can't help but enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a great read! If you liked the other 2 books in this trilogy, buy this one. A great end to a great series. Zahn really catches the essence of the films.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Off the rating scale. The Magnum opus of Star Wars novels, in my opinion is the final installation of the amazing Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Plan ahead before reading this one because you will not be willing to put it down. An exciting finale to an exciting saga that is just as worthy (if not more?!?) to made into its own film trilogy. The original three along with the new Episode I are great but one can only read these in order to understand just how good they really are. I'd give it ten stars if I could!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Last Command The third book of a trilogy is usually the most exciting. This trilogy is no different. One of the best "Star Wars" novels I've read. Five stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest star wars book ever. If there has ever been a better written star wars book, I have yet to read it. Last command displays how a trilogy should be ended. Several storylines come to a conclusion in the finest ending I have ever read. A must read for any star wars fan. Must read the first 2 in the series first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Last Command Zahn's Heir to the Empire series draws to a triumphant climax as all of the various plots and subplots converge, and are resolved amid the desperate battles waged by the main characters, as victory for the Empire becomes clearly apparent. An excellent ending to a superb series.
