A masterful saga of the last great American Mafia family and its powerful reach into Hollywood and Las Vegas, from the author of The Godfather

The Last Don
is Domenico Clericuzio, a wise and ruthless old man who is determined to see his heirs established in legitimate society but whose vision is threatened when secrets from the family's past spark a vicious war between two blood cousins.

The Last Don is a mesmerizing tale that takes us inside the equally corrupt worlds of the mob, the movie industry, and the casinos where beautiful actresses and ruthless hitmen are ruled by lust and violence, where sleazy producers and greedy studio heads are drunk on power, where crooked cops and desperate gamblers play dangerous games of betrayal, and where one man controls them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book If you like mob stories you will love this. I loved this book from page one and I actually liked it more then the god father. As for the movies they weren't bad but some of the casting was disappointing like the character of Athena in the book you see this strong character but Daryl hanna's portrayal of her destroys the character.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average read during travel. It lacks the depth and pace of "Godfather".The start of the books begins to bore you down but as you progress it is interesting. The story as such is predictable for anybody who has read any of other books by the writer. Can read only if there are no other books around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth The Price Of Admission This is the book that turned me in to an avid reader. As popular as Puzo's writing is, I don't think he really get all the credit he deserves since many of his novels deal with Mafia activity. He truly is a great writer and this is one of his best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tutta la pasta Mario Puzo puts in this book tutta la pasta that he had. You can´t wait to the end, you read and read and everything is action. Its so real, it seams to being in the reality. Like all Puzo,s books it has a serious critic to the rich class. I think it is really an excellent boook.
