"Filled with envy, deception, and power, it’s a great reading escape. And there is a thrilling twist at the end!!" —Reese Witherspoon

“Will keep you up. In a ‘can’t put it down’ way. It’s ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ with XX chromosomes.”—The Skimm

“Deliciously duplicitous. . . . equally as twisty, spellbinding, and addictive as Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl or Paula Hawkins’s The Girl on the Train.”—Library Journal (starred review)

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.

To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.

Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn't have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.

Liv Constantine is the pen name of sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine. Separated by three states, they spend hours plotting via Skype and burning up each other’s emails. They attribute their ability to concoct dark story lines to the hours they spent listening to tales handed down by their Greek grandmother. They live in...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Twisty & Manipulative! I had heard a lot about this book before I dove in, and am happy to report that I agree with everyone saying this a delightful and devilish read. I completely enjoyed the premise of this story - Amber Patterson is tired of her hard luck life. She has set her sights on Daphne Parrish, whose life she wants all for herself. She begins to infiltrate the Parrish's lives, joining them for holidays and events, and becoming Daphne's closest friend. All is well with her plan, with the exception of one small skeleton in Amber's closet that threatens to ruin everything she is working for. This is one of those books where the horrific nature of the characters is what makes it so enjoyable to read. I loved how villainous Amber is - she was single mindedly prepared to do whatever it took to get the life she believed she deserved. And it is such fun watching her manipulate her way into the Parrish's world. I will say, I wasn't surprised by the twists of this story, I guessed them all well in advance, but that in NO WAY took away from how much I enjoyed the story itself. I loved watching the characters reveal themselves for who they really are. I loved the manipulations, crossing and double crossing that were flying left and right. I loved the dark, horrible characters. And I LOVED the ending. If this one hasn't made your way on your pile, it should. It is one of the most satisfying reads of my entire year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Waste Your Time This was one of the worst books I read this year. The characters and their interactions reminded me of a Twilight/Gone Girl cross, only Gone Girl was actually good. The conversations the characters were having reminded me of a teen novel. No one in the story seemed capable of complex human emotion. Don't waste your time reading this book. Watch Twilight, then watch Gone Girl and you'll get the just of this story.

Editorial Reviews

“Gillian Flynn meets Joy Fielding in Liv Constantine’s The Last Mrs. Parrish. In an age of great anti-heroines, comes the most unlikeable one yet, the coldly devilish Amber Patterson. This thriller delivers the most satisfying ending since B.A. Paris’ smash hit Behind Closed Doors—and a victorious romp of revenge.”
