“Thrilling. . . . a must-read!” — Mary Kubica
“Masterful.” — Wendy Walker
“I couldn’t put it down.” — Joseph Finder

In a world of wealth and privilege, a killer is hiding . . .

The internationally bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish follows that success with an addictive novel filled with shocking twists about the aftermath of a brutal high-society murder.

Dr. Kate English has it all. Not only is she the heiress to a large fortune; she has a gorgeous husband and daughter, a high-flying career, and a beautiful home anyone would envy.

But all that changes the night Kate’s mother, Lily, is found dead, brutally murdered in her own home. Heartbroken and distraught, Kate reaches out to her estranged best friend, Blaire Barrington, who rushes to her side for the funeral, where the years of distance between them are forgotten in a moment.

That evening, Kate’s grief turns to horror when she receives an anonymous text: You think you’re sad now, just wait. By the time I’m finished with you, you’ll wish you had been buried today. More than ever, Kate needs her old friend’s help.

Once Blaire decides to take the investigation into her own hands, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems in Baltimore high society. As infidelity, lies, and betrayals come to light, and tensions rise to a boiling point, she begins to alienate Kate’s friends and relatives with her relentless, accusatory questions, as she tries to find Lily’s killer. The murderer could be anyone—friend, neighbor, loved one. But whoever it is, it’s clear that Kate is next on their list. . .

In The Last Time I Saw You, Liv Constantine takes the lightning pace of The Last Mrs. Parrish and raises the stakes, creating an exquisitely tension-filled and absorbing tale of psychological suspense in which innocent lives—and one woman’s sanity—hang in the balance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Paranoia in Baltimore The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine is a psychological thriller about the dysfunction of Baltimore high society. Dr. Kate English has it all: she is a physician, wife and mother, living in a showcase home and is also the heiress to a family fortune. Tragedy strikes when her mother Lily is brutally murdered and the police haven't a clue who the perpetrator could be. Blaire Barrington, Kate's best friend in earlier years, comes to the funeral to offer her support and to help unearth information about the murder. Soon after the funeral, Kate begins to receive threatening texts promising that she is next. The tension intensifies till Kate becomes paranoid and starts doubting the integrity of several people in her life. Who could have killed Lily and is the same person coming for her? Suspicions of infidelity, betrayals and dishonesty only succeed to confuse. The resolution will astonish. This is a great title for beach or cottage reading. Thank you to Harper Collins Publishers and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I really had to try to get through this one. I was so annoyed by Kate and her best friend Blaire. The story was repetitive, trying to drive home how Kate was going crazy...even though NOTHING HAPPENED TO HER! Yes, her mother was murdered and the story should have been about finding that killer instead of the circle of panic that Kate had about text messages and emails (uh, stop checking them you fool). None of the characters were likable, which made it even harder to continue to read. There were a couple twists at the end but you could see them coming a mile away. Not worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Twists but few turns Well written, dull lead characters that were difficult to relate to & way too much of a back story makes this a mediocre/forgettable domestic thriller by the sister team, Liv Constantine. Their first novel, The Last Mrs Parish was a much better thriller w/ engaging characters, decent storyline & plenty of twisty & wicked turns.. Some entertainment value but not my favorite read this summer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Exciting Thriller While it wasn’t quite as exciting at The Last Mrs Parrish; it was quite a thriller. Fast paced, exciting and easy read. I found it hard to connect with any of the characters, but did enjoy the twists and turns it offered. If you enjoy thrillers, or have read the previous book my Liv Constantine I would certainly recommend

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting, but not my favorite characters. This book is a bit of a conundrum for me - while I liked the central plot (and definitely was invested in finding out what happened and what was going to happen), I loathed the characters all so much that it made the book a little less enjoyable than I had hoped it would be. I can't put my finger on exactly what the combination was that put me off here - but having a very rich main character who just seemed to be over the top whiny, dramatic and over-reacting didn't inspire any empathy in me. Instead, so many of Kate's actions aggravated me because they didn't make sense (to me) as part of the bigger picture. That in turn pulled me out of the plot more than once, because it all felt so over the top. I more enjoyed Blaire's character, and that made up for my apathy towards Kate a little. But for me, the story got weighted down by way too much internal dialogue and mental flashback for the characters. It was too much backstory trying to be crammed in and made to fit to justify the current behaviour of the main characters. Again, a little distracting for me. In the end, I wanted to see where the twists went (and they were GREAT twists, I didn't see coming) but unfortunately I was so apathetic towards any of the characters that I didn't really end up caring what happened to anyone. Not my favorite read this summer, but did make for a good bit of entertainment nonetheless. Pick this one up and give it a try!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Liv Constantine Does it Again Liv Constantine really knows how to show off how the other half lives and then make you grateful it’s not your life. I really enjoyed the Last Mrs. Parrish so I was excited to read The Last Time I Saw You. The story follows the twisty murder mystery of the main character Kate’s mother whose supposed murderer has now turned their attention to Kate. I enjoyed all the questions around the murder and the characters in the book because they keep you guessing at who the murderer is. While I did correctly predict who did it it was still an enjoyable thriller. Not quite as captivating as the Last Mrs. Parrish but still a good read for thriller fans. Also, I find it really interesting that Liv Constantine is actually two sisters writing together. (The more you know) Thank you to Harper Collins for sending me the advanced copy.

Editorial Reviews

“THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU is exactly what a good thriller should be—dazzling plot, haunting characters, wonderfully paced. Once again, Liv Constantine reaches deep into the psychic wounds of her heroine creating a deliciously satisfying, and utterly compelling, murder mystery.”
