Rated 2 out of 5 by from Defective! The words and pictures in Abridged Edition do not match!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the original but... the board book I received left out a lot info and the wording and pictures did not match.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Childhood Classic This is my favourite version of the story. I think every child should know this one! Nice text and lovely illustrations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A classic I loved this book as a child and my parents bought it for my children who love it too. It's definitely a wordy book to read though! A message of positive thinking and not giving up is great. #indigoreviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Childhood revisited The story that Burl Ives sang to our children, long ago, is published here with pictures that will appeal to all children. A "motivating story", yes, but "I think I can" giving way to "I knew I could" feels so right, whatever the age. Will share it with my great-grandson, when he is just a little older.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power of Positive Thinking We read this book to our children, more than 30 years ago. It helps to create positive thinkers, and, the magic of believing that one can! To this day, we still talk about this book. My grandchildren treasure it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much of the original story is missing This story is a classic, but the editors of this board book chopped out way too much of it. The story doesn't flow very well. I remember reading this story as a child and loving how the words mimicked the sound of a train chugging along a track. This feeling is lost in the board book version, sadly. I wish I had known the board book was different and would have bought a paper version telling the whole story. The images are still great, and my little guy enjoys the book.... not as much as his paper version of Down by the Station by Will Hillenbrand though!
