Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recall's Wonderful Childhood Memories I discovered this book in my little elementary school library around 5 years of age and I LOVED it. Since having a daughter I have felt compelled to get it because it is such an atmospheric book. It is indeed refreshing in a world of savvy, sometimes "cold", CGI children's book illustrations. It's not exclusively a girl's book but it tends to be intriguing to girls more than boys because of the doll and the bears; the content can involve tea sets, for example. A classic that I hope never goes out of print. I would definitely recommend adding it to a child's library collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Lonely Doll Awesome book, much loved as a child!! I kept it and now read it to my daughter. I have collected 2 other books of Dare Wright's, part of The Lonely Doll series, and can't say enough how much I enjoy and recommend these books. The photography in them is such a pleasant change from other books; great stories to go with the pics. Get one, get all!
