Excerpt from The Lynn Review, Vol. 2: November, 1911

Governor Foss said the state's money was wasted or stolen. Where is his proof? Pretty small talk from a man in the governor's chair.

The Boston and Maine railroad, as usual, is doing about as it pleases with the city. Government by commis sion has no effect upon the imposition.

Governor Foss would have reduced the punishment meted out to Jesse Pomeroy had not the weapon been found on the prisoner. The governor's prison releasing business thus suffered a jolt. It was all politics with the governor.
