"The Madonna of 115th Street has over the last quarter century become a classic of American religious history. There are few books that I have enjoyed teaching more over the years and even fewer that have taught me as much about American Catholic history."—Leigh E. Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting, Insightful, Historical t is quite rare for a scholar to write a book which manages to be at the same time a work of his respective field (in this case, history) and genuinely exciting to read. Robert Orsi has done just that. As a work of history it is superb and entertaining. More than once I found myself examining my own religious devotions. Well done.
