Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Illustrations Another great Chris Van Allsburg book. I use this book with my class as prompts for generating ideas for narrative writing. The students really love the illustrations and spark their imaginations and creativity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Imaginative! The illustrations of Chris Van Allsburg are mesmerizing...truly incredible. Each picture...with only a line or two, invites the reader to make up their own story about what's going on. An incredibly beautiful and imaginative book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This is the most beautifully illustrated book I have ever seen. Were it not for the fact that destroying books breaks my heart I would cut the pictures out and frame them on my walls. I could stare at the drawings for hours on end. Excellent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ? I was first introduced to this book in grade 5, and like cai, we had to use it as a story starter. Over the years, i have still remembered the picture i used- the one with the boy and dog, looking at the harp. This is a book that you won't likely forget once you see it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mysteries of Harris Burdwick I had never heard of this book untill 2 weeks ago when my library teacher showed it to us. I was amased by the illustrations. The library teacher read it to us 2 times. After each page she asked us where we thought the caption should go (the beggining of the story the middle or the end). It was exciting guessing the place it would go. It was also fun to hear my classmates guesses. When I came to Chapters I looked for the book first thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just any 'picture book' I was introduced to this book in grade five, by our teacher. The pictures in this book just let your imagination soar, and transport you to a new world. Our teacher would give us a picture, along with the caption, and we had to use it as a story starter. This book is not just for little kids, it is for everyone. I am now in grade seven and i still enjoy looking through this book and letting my imagination soar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Illustrations I remember vividly the first time I saw the book and that was years ago when I was in Grade 2. The funny thing is, this book is mainly composed of wonderful illustrations, a title for each, and a small caption. From flying houses, to things under the rug, my imagination soared from these illustrations. Long after having read the book, it still is one of my favourite kids books.
