Rated 5 out of 5 by from How to be a great Executive Communicator! With a refreshing and interesting opening commentary, Granville Toogood starts by pointing out that in order to truly succeed, executives must be solid communicators – in the real world. He proposes that the three fundamentals to an articulate executive’s leadership are Competence, Clarity and Communication. In itself this is not new but he points out that leadership is wrought from personal contact, leadership and communication, not from email/IM/SMS/Social Media. It is easy to get carried away with the hype of the day. Toogood reminds us that the fundamentals are what really count in leading a team as an articulate and effective executive. Toogood’s book is a great reminder on communication skills that most executives already know, but never expressly articulated, or thought about. It is encouraging to read that others too, have discovered similar points of refinement. A well thought out discussion of various aspects of executive communication, from verbal, to graphic, to dressing professionally, to writing style. Provides some excellent tactics you can use in your next presentation or team discussion.
