Glow from the inside out with fabulous vegan recipes from the creator of the award-winning blog
Oh She Glows

A self-trained chef and food photographer, Angela Liddon has spent years perfecting the art of plant-based cooking, creating inventive and delicious recipes that have brought her devoted fans from all over the world. After struggling for a decade with an eating disorder, Angela vowed to change her diet - and her life - once and for all. She traded the low-calorie, processed food she'd been living on for whole, nutrient-packed vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, and more. The result? Her energy soared, she healed her relationship with food, and she got her glow back, both inside and out. Eager to share her realization that the food we put into our bodies has a huge impact on how we look and feel each day, Angela started a blog, Oh She Glows, which is now an internet sensation and one of the most popular vegan recipe blogs on the web.

This is Angela’s long-awaited debut cookbook, with a treasure trove of more than a hundred mouth-watering, wholesome recipes – from revamped classics that even meat-eaters will love, to fresh and inventive dishes – all packed with flavor. From rich and hearty entrees like the Crowd Pleasing Tex Mex Casserole and 15-Minute Creamy Avocado Pasta to decadent desserts such as Chilled Chocolate Espresso Torte with Hazelnut Crust and Angela’s famous Glo Bakery Glo Bars, there is something for everyone. The Oh She Glows Cookbook also includes recipes free of common food allergens – with more than ninety gluten-free recipes – and many recipes free of soy, nuts, sugar, and grains, too!

Whether you are a vegan, “vegan-curious,” or you simply want to eat delicious food that just happens to be healthy, this cookbook is a must-have for anyone who longs to eat well, feel great, and simply glow!

Angela Liddon  is the writer, photographer, and recipe  developer for Oh She Glows , the web's destination for healthy vegan recipes, which receives over six million page views a month.  She also has an M.S. in social-personality psychology, and enjoys helping others find happiness and health through a plant-based diet.  Angela an...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing vegan cookbook! Every recipe I've tried has been delicious, and really simple to make! Use this all the time.
Date published: 2017-10-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of My Favourite Cookbooks I live off of the smoothies in this book. I was even able to convince my father to go vegan off of these recipes!
Date published: 2017-10-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use this book all the time! I have made many recipes from this book, and have lent it to many others to use as well. I haven't made one recipe from this book that I haven't liked. I didn't have all of the ingredients at first, but once I bought them, I found I used them repeatedly for many recipes throughout the book, therefore they didn't just sit in my pantry unused! Probably my favourite plant based cookbook so far. A classic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for a change I am not vegan or even vegetarian but really enjoy a number of these recipes. Some call for ingredients I wouldn't normally have on hand but it is nice to try new things once in awhile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Vegetarian/Vegan Cookbook I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but bought these books based on some feedback from friends and wanted to get back on track with healthy whole food eating. I'll admit, I have made less from this book than the newer version, but the recipes are easy to follow and diverse. Some things I can do without, like teaching me to make guacamole (come on...). The book is great for newbies as it gives a lot of information on what tools you need, the ingredients and so forth. However, I do find that many of the recipes I have tried require a lot of flavour tweaking - my preference is for bold and spicy flavour profiles. The smoothies I find are quiet filling, and I have been making them for my breakfast for work mornings ahead of time. Most recipes do keep well, so it does make meal planning easy. I don't think my blender has been used this much ever, and usually when I have used it, it's been to make margaritas! Overall, it's a great staple for your cookbook collection and has given inspiration for tweaking and making the recipes my own and four weeks of eating a predominately vegetarian diet, I've lost that summer bloat from all the over-indulging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Recipes There are some good recipes in this book. Some recipes are very involved and ingredients are hard to find so I tend to find substitutes to make it work
Date published: 2017-09-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok -- not great I follow this blog, but didn't find that I loved the cookbook. Better off just getting recipes online. There are better vegan books out there...
Date published: 2017-09-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Difficult and Expensive Recipes! I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but I wanted to try out something new. I got this book with high hopes and it was wayyyy out of my league. Each recipe calls for a ton of ingredients which are either hard to find or very expensive. The recipes take so much time and the pay off is very bland in my opinion. This book works if you're a seasoned vegetarian or vegan with a whole pantry of these fad, "superfood" ingredients or if you have a large income. I'll just let my copy collect dust for now.
Date published: 2017-09-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Delish some recipes are a little complicated, but delicious nonetheless.
Date published: 2017-08-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best vegan cookbook ever! This is the best vegan cookbook ever. Even my boyfriend, who is not vegan but appreciates all vegetarian meals, loves every meal I have preferred from this book. This book should be in everyone's cookbook library whether, vegan, vegetarian or carnivore!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice! Lovely book with gorgeous pictures! It has a great variety of recipes. Some of them take some time to prepare and require ingredients that I do not usually have on hand. Lots of them are suitable for kids as well. Nice addition to any vegan cookbook collection!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good book but... ...the recipes in here do require A LOT of time, effort and ingredients to prepare. Most of them taste great but I really don't think the recipes are all that feasible for the average person.
Date published: 2017-08-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this One of the most used cook books in my kitchen, a great variety of simple and tasty recipes!
Date published: 2017-07-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from NACHO Average Cook Book A friend was hosting a Christmas party and made a DELICIOUS nacho dip. I kid you not, I sat in front of the table all night indulging! The next morning, I immediately messaged her asking for the recipe; she snapped a photo of the Oh She Glows cook book, and I jumped in the car to quickly grab my copy. This book is beautiful, and full of so many tasty recipes!! I'm no cook, and found it easy to follow. Only challenge I ran into was lack of ingredients in my cupboard, but a quick stop to the grocery store had me cooking up a storm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth All the Hype The format is very nice, provides beginner and intermediate vegan recipes, and has a presentation that appeals not only to vegans and non-vegans. Great cookbook for those just starting to eat plant-based, or looking for something different from the standard American diet.
Date published: 2017-07-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy vegan recipes I like this book because even for a non vegan it's easy to follow and make #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short of expectations I had high expectations for this book after hearing such good things about it; after flipping through the pages, I found that most recipes just don't appeal to me. I somewhat regret my purchase, but I decided to keep. Some recipes call for a long list of ingredients and seem time consuming. I'm vegan, but not gluten free. The dessert section is a little disappointing to me, but I'll give it a chance and maybe I'll like the outcome of some of the recipes.

Date published: 2017-06-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good Normally I find books based on blogs to be disappointing, but I had the opposite experience with this book. I had been underwhelmed and unimpressed by the Oh She Glows blog, however my mom sent me this book as a gift and I ended up trying most of the recipes and enjoying them. For a vegan cookbook, I do find Angela succeeds in getting enough veg AND protein in most of her meals, which is not always the case in vegan cookbooks.
Date published: 2017-06-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good A good book for those just starting out on a plant based diet
Date published: 2017-06-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives up to expectations This book was recommended to me by a friend. I'm so glad I decided to purchase it. Not only does it have a ton of wicked recipes, it also has good information on what to keep in your pantry and what kitchen tools you should get. Loved it so much I purchased her second one, "Oh She Glows Everyday".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty little vegan cookbook! Whether or not you are a vegan, this is a gorgeous cookbook with mouth-watering photographs. It's a joy to turn the pages and peruse the recipes. If you're into natural foods, with some ingredients from the specialty section of your grocery store, this book is for you. Healthy eating never looked so good! #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cookbook Even for Non-Vegans This is a great cookbook even for non-vegan's like myself like just like to mix up the meal plan for the week. Recipes are easy to follow and are even enjoyable to the most steadfast meat-lover! From the apple pie oatmeal, smoothies, soups even mains, everything I've tried has tasted and turned out great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Find! I bought this cookbook over a year ago, and I still refer to it. I'm not vegan, so some of the pantry staples / ingredients in some of the recipes were a little overwhelming. I opted to try out the easier recipes with the ingredients I had on hand. I am happy I did. The pictures are beautiful and the directions are easy to follow. The Green Monster smoothie and lentil walnut loaf quickly became my kids' favourites. Looking forward to trying out more of her recipes. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Best if Not One of the Best Vegan Cookbooks This is the cookbook I began my vegan journey. I've been wanting to be vegan for years but just could not bring myself to do it. It seemed like too much work. I'm not going to lie and say they are easy recipes in that some of them do take awhile but the more you make the recipes the easier it gets. I'm also not going to say all the recipes are excellent. Some taste better than others. Most are very good though. The reason I feel that this cookbook stands out is in the creativity level of the recipes. The tastes are complex. I also found the ingredients were relatively easy to get although some were unfamiliar to me. If I can get the ingredients in a city size of 100, 000 people, I think that is saying something. You will not regret buying this book and it is a must have if you are vegan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING! Ever since I received this book along with Oh She Glows Every Day, I've mostly been making recipes from this one (I'll move on to Oh She Glows Every Day soon), and I am absolutely amazed! Everything I'd made so far is absolutely delicious and I can't wait to keep making more! I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am I received these as gifts! I'm actually a pescetarian and I do eat dairy, but I strongly believe that anyone can like the recipes out of this book and I have several friends who eat just about anything that love these recipes and have both of Angela's books as well. This book is a must-have for ANYONE!! Also, props to Angela for her photographs, they're beautiful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some stuff I like some I dont... This is a pretty good cookbook. Some of the recipes are just nasty - I hate soaked chia and oats so I just avoid them. Others are nice vegan ideas... Im not vegan but vegetarian so its a good mix and reminds you that healthy eating is real eating.

Date published: 2017-03-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good A good cookbook with great recipes that even non-vegans can enjoy. I do however think it's a little bit overhyped for what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favourite I'm vegetarian and my husband is an omnivore, but somehow this has very easily become one of our new favourites! Aside from one memorable recipe that will not be happening again, this has been amazing. Everything is so, so full of healthy, nourishing food that keeps you sated--in a good way, not a heavy, lethargic way--and it isn't impossible to complete. Most of the meals are doable within 30 minutes or less, or you can just throw half the stuff (soups in particular) in the slow cooker and be done with it. The dessert section I'm also rather pleased with, and if you're vegetarian like me, you can always substitute some items with actual egg or cheese or butter, etc., to please yourself. The book doesn't make this impossible. I love it so much that I will one hundred percent be investing in her sophomore attempt!
Date published: 2017-03-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING This cookbook is simple, delicious and easy to follow recipes for those of us that don't have every vegan ingredient in our pantry. Our family is not vegan but we still have OH SHE GLOWS recipes every week and love them no differently than our meat filled dinners!
Date published: 2017-03-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great cookbook When I got this book, I was a carnivorous creature, but many of my friends were either raving about this cookbook, or were bringing around delicious food that was from it. So I bought it. Wasn't over the moon about it when I got it, but I found myself really enjoying the recipes out of it, and eventually became a vegetarian as a result. There just wasn't a reason not to, considering how easy it was to make absolutely amazing food. So after owning the book for a year, and being a veggie for 6 months, the second OSG cookbook was released and I didn't think I would purchase it, didn't really seem worth it... And then I lent my OSG1 to my sister, and I realized how much I pull from this book! And not necessarily for large recipes, but for things like sauces, or smoothie recipes. I felt so lost that I went to Chapters and bought OSG2 and the world is right again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The recipes are unique! The recipes in the Oh She Glows cookbook are really inspiring for those who enjoy cooking and baking. The best part about the recipes is the adaptability of most of the recipes, which is handy when you have allergies, intolerances or when you simply don't like mushrooms! The photography is spot on, making your mouth water when you flip through the pages, I've warned you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over half of the items I will never make I wouldn't purchase this cookbook. There truly aren't many recipes in here that are practical to make. It's a nice book, layout and pictures, but that's not really the content.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable I quite like the recipes in this book. The enchiladas are excellent as well as her power balls. A lot of her recipes are on her website though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Possibly my favourite cookbook. I keep going back to this book again and again for inspiration, ideas, and now some of my favourite classic recipes. The oil-free zucchini muffins are to die for. The mushroom tart will be the talk of your next party. The veggie burgers are the best I've ever had. Whether you're Vegan, Vegetarian or not, there is something for everyone in this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DELISH DISHES I bought this book and have now cooked just about everything in it. Super easy and beyond tasty. Nothing is overly complication and it really is one of the best cookbooks I have ever purchased. It has made the transition to vegan that much simpler for my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will Use This FOREVER I love the recipes in this book so much. I'm a vegetarian but lactose intolerant so its my holy grail. Also, my dad is a meat lover and enjoys tons of the recipes in this book. I highly, highly recommend even to those who aren't vegan! It's a great way to throw in a meatless meal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of my go to's Many delicious recipes in this book. I have owned this book for a while and it's one I go back to again and again. Could use more main dish recipes, there are a few things i would be afraid to make (like walnut loaf) as I'm not a fan of meat substitutes. Many of the baked goods are amazing and turn out perfectly on the first try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yum This book was really helpful for me transitioning from vegetarian to vegan. People complain about the ingredients not being available, but most things you think you may have a harder time finding are available at the Bulk Barn. There are tons of beautiful pictures in this book, so you can get an idea of what your food should look like. I love most of the recipes I have tried. I let my mom borrow this book, and she had it for about 2 months, I'm assuming she copied most of the recipes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting Recipes! I found that this book has some really great recipes, but I haven't used it as much as I would like. Some of the ingredients are more difficult to find, or have to be in season. Many of the recipes are also discouraging to the picky eater (husband!) that I live with! I hope to use the book more in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent! This book is great for vegan ' newbies'. The recipes are straight forward and delicious. I especially recommend the walnut-lentil loaf (leftovers make a great sandwich), served with the mushroom gravy on cauliflower mashed potatoes The chakra Caesar salad is a nice addition to the meal. I'm not fond of croutons so usually substitute cucumber pieces (makes prep even easier!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great introduction This book really is a great introduction to vegan/plant based meals. If you are looking for a place to start and are overwhelmed by all of the information online, pick a copy of this up. Angela Liddon really does a great job at breaking it all down to the basics. The recipes are simple, direct and delicious. However, if you are already an experienced plant-based cook, i would flip through the book to see how much "new content" is in here for you. Regardless, it is great for inspiration if nothing else :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helped get my creativity flowing! I stumbled upon the author's blog about 5 years ago when I started eating less meat and looking to eat more plant based. Like most cookbooks, some recipes just weren't of interest for me, however many were really tasty and easy to adjust to my tastes. I liked this book for really simple veg meals that I could alter or get inspired by as I started looking to change my diet. Well worth it!
