Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A true Disappointment After reading the four full novels I was excited to see this one and could only wonder how different the process was for him. While reading I was excited to see it was following along then lines of the first book then suddenly stop after the first time he talks to the girls at breakfast. I was expecting something more in depth and if I had honestly known this would be it, I would not have bothered. The author could have taken this side of the story and made it a full book, as there are so many parts I simply wanted to know how Maxon would handle it and what happened behind what America told us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heart Whelming The Prince, was one of the best Novellas I have ever read. Not only do you get to read from Maxon's perspective during the selection we get to know how he feels about it before and who he is then and now. It was truly a honour to read out of the beautiful, sweet and touching Prince Maxon's perspective. If anyone has read the Selection then I suggest you read this heart Whelming Novella!! - Sydney Greer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A M A Z I N G A fan of the selection? This is a must read. Plus for on 2.99 without tax this is worth every penny. The only problem is that you don't want it to end! I'm getting the elite for Christmas and it's the 23rd of Dec right now but it seems so far away! This book is just going to make the satisfaction even greater when I do read the Elite! To Kobo, when the prince comes out you can count on my purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute, fun and short refresher from Maxon's POV Originally posted on http://bibliophilesisters.wordpress.com/ So I picked up this e-novella in anticipation of the release of the Elite which is the second book in the Selection series by Kiera Cass. First of all I don’t really know how I feel about all these novellas that are coming out. Sure I love the extra content from series that I enjoy, but at the same time I’m paying $2.99 for 60 pages of content…Maybe that’s a discussion for another day. Let’s talk about this novella in particular. This short story is written from Prince Maxon’s point of view and takes place chronologically before and during the Selection. In these six chapters we get to know Maxon a little bit more, and also learn more about Illea as well as his parents: the King and Queen. It was interesting to be inside Maxon’s head since we are used to only seeing him from America’s jaded eyes. I like that he had a life before the selection, and that he was so nervous about meeting the girls. It seems that despite what his father believes he is taking this seriously, and truly wanting to find an appropriate wife. We get to see the true colors of the King. I think that this short story made me love the Queen even more and loathe the King even more. I seriously don’t understand how these two are married. I really enjoyed the last few chapters which take place during the actual selection. This is material we already saw in the first book, but to see it from Maxon’s POV was very interesting. To see what was going through his head when he first met America and was interviewing the girls was fun. All in all this was a great way to reintroduce me to the world of Illea, jog my memory of events that happened in the first book, and prepare me to start reading the Elite. I think this story made me like Maxon even more if that is possible. I can’t wait to see what happens in the Elite!! I would suggest you pick this up if you were a fan of the first book to take you further into the mind of the Prince.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Prince I liked seeing the perspective of the prince. I wonder if there will be another book showing the perspective of Asher. It would be interesting to hear his side.
