Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good, but not what I expected The book begins with incredible detail and personal story to set the tone of both the good (Optimalist) and the bad (Perfectionist) traits of what we generically call perfectionism. The first part of the book stood out as very succinct and complete for an overview of perfectionist tendencies. The second and third parts of the book recount endless studies, research and pioneers in psychology. Although interesting, the book read like a term paper. Too many studies, doctors and external information was presented. The topics here ran the full spectrum of challenges across education, work and love. I didn't feel these passages spoke directly to perfectionism as they could easily be applied to other personality types as well. All in all, the book was interesting but did not meet expectations to start living a richer life. I'm confident that for people like me, the pursuit of perfection can bring tremendous success and result in a very happy life.
