Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rosemary Edmonds Translation Indigo doesn't list the translator at this time, but this edition was translated by Rosemary Edmonds. The other Penguin edition of this, The Queen of Spades and Other Stories, is also translated by Edmonds. She is generally well regarded for her work translating Russian classics, especially Tolstoy. Edmonds was a British translator who did most of her work in the 1950s and 1960s, which may influence the vocabulary in this edition of The Queen of Spades.
