Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yuck What started out as a wonderful mix of historical and time travel sci fi became a mediocore romance. I wanted to scream when the previously rational hero suddenly started musing over a young woman' s derriere! Also the constant silly mistakes he makes in customs and manners when he returns to his own time period made me want to grind my teeth. Soon I found myself flipping pages until I was just skimming this very disappointing novel. And to tout it as a mystery baffles me utterly. Truly the only mystery is why I kept wasting my reading time on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Time Travel Book! This book was quite entertaining. The characters were good, the plot nice and twisty, and it moved well. My biggest criticism is that it ended rather abruptly. I was actually astonished and left open mouthed when I realized I had reached the last page with so much of the adventure unresolved. Of course! It must be the first of a series. I am now salivating to get to the next one. I truly recommend this book.
