about

Did Hollywood get it wrong? A year after transforming into a mortal vampire, Ava Lilith continues to have a lackluster life. The new dietary requirements and the intensifying of her senses aside, she continues to face unhappiness rather than the glamorous and provocative lifestyle that television and movies would suggest. She then learns of an underground society of immortal vampires, led by the mysterious ‘rock star of vampires’. Cloaked in shadow, this Immortal sect controls the major powers of the world - from business and finance to science and politics - all manipulated for personal gain and to keep their existence concealed.Ava finds herself drawn to this secret world where she could live forever and pursue all her dreams. But what will she lose, in order to gain immortality?             <_o3a_p>

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must read I was a little leary about reading this book of Mima's as I don't usually like Vampire books. I was very surprised and found myself not wanting to put the book down. Great story line and well written. Another great local PEI author to add to my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE ROCK STAR OF VAMPIRES by Mima - I love this book, I rate it a 5 star I absolutely love the way Mima writes, this is her third book and I have read all three. I was enthralled by this tail of mortal and immortal vampires. It is so perfectly written that it makes you wonder if this book is not fiction at all. If you like a story with suspense, betrayal, steamy sex scenes then read this book. Mima is a wonderful writer, I love her books... I can't wait for the next book, I am now addicted to MIMA!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh so Spicy! I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. I was drown in by the normalcy of this vampire world and the mysteries all through. It's gets very spicy at times, the end is like 50 Shades of Grey meets Twilight. This is a quick read and very well written with relatable characters. Mima leaves readers with many great thoughts about life, death, and happiness to ponder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More please! This is the third book I have read by author Mima, and she has once again held true to her inimitable style. She has such a talent for weaving themes of rebel and rock and roll throughout her stories. Her characters are always real, colourful and relatable, and Ava, the lead character in this story is as well. Ava has been brought into the vampire world abruptly and she is conflicted and struggling emotionally. I really loved that despite her struggles, friendship and loyalty are important to her, make her very likeable, and make me empathize with her throughout the story. I also enjoyed that she is surrounded by interesting characters, and the ending definitely left me wanting more. I have my fingers crossed for a sequel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful twist The Rock Star of Vampires. A story that takes place in one of Canada?s largest cities, one that the author, MIMA, knows very well after several years of living there; to find out which city read the book. The glow that once encompassed the Vampire world has been dimmed, the pedestal that once held them on high gone, the throne from which they once sat and glared down at us from, torn to cinders. Now to the new age Vampire readers, this might come as a shock to the system, but as the book promises, on its back cover, ?What if Hollywood got it wrong?? We as readers and writers have spent the beginning of this century glamorizing the Vampire lore; well no more! No, MIMA breaks down the walls between worlds and humanize these once god like creatures of myth, and turns them in to your neighbors, your co-workers, your high school class mates, your one night stands. MIMA follows once such monster, Ava Lilith, around as she seeks purpose in her new world, still young in the eyes of humans, mortal and immortal Vampires she is forced to take on challenges of the heart, friendship, and desires. I loved it! Turning, what could have been unrelatable fan fiction, into a life that all of us can imagine being real. If you love the classics, Dracula, or the new age vampires with sparkles. Open up your hearts to a new kind of blood sucker; one that will leave you not only feeling for her, but taking a second look into your own priorities. I know it did to me.
