Rated 5 out of 5 by from useful! This guide has so much information, yet it was easy to use and definitely came in handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very handy I brought this guidebook with me to South Korea and it was very handy. I was able to identify regions of interest prior to my trip (which I cross-referenced with online travel blogs and other online sources). This book is not *super* detailed in terms of the specifics of all the attractions it has, which was sort of nice - it's more of a reference tool than an in-depth guidebook - but this allowed me to identify points of interest for the areas I was going to, and from there I continued my research online, and in a few instances, waited to arrive and ask at the hotel which places they recommended based on a list I made. It also contains useful little maps and is well categorized based on location (provinces, I believe). If you want a more detailed guidebook to carry around, I recommend the slightly more expensive Lonely Planet guide, however, it's good to note that in Korea, you can get VERY inexpensive wifi/data plans - for me, this book was sufficient paired with my mobile with internet access.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best Do not buy this book. I have the earlier version and it does a bad job of explaining what things are and where they are, especially in comparison to other sites. The way most of it is written makes you not want to visit many attractions, as if they aren't worth visiting. I would have avoided nice locations if I hadn't looked for more opinions online. The layout is more difficult than it needs to be. I can not imagine the newest version will be much different in these respects. Would recommend spending a bit more on the lonely planet book.
