The Sea Hawk by Rafael Sabatini is a novel originally published in 1915. The story portrays the life of Sir Oliver Tressilian, a retired Cornish sea-faring gentleman who is villainously betrayed by a jealous half-brother. He is liberated by Barbary pirates after becoming a slave on a galley. He then joins the pirates under his new name ""Sakr-el-Bahr"", the hawk of the sea, and swears vengeance against his brother.
