Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprising I have read all of L.J. smith's other works and enjoyed them all. I am huge fan of the television shows based on her books as well as her other series. Sadly, Alloy has NO respect for Ms.Smith and i will no longer be buying these ghostwritter books with her name on it (the fifth secret circle book soon to be released will not be by LJ). On a better note, I had passed these books many times before but the summary never captured my attention so I read other series. However, when i received both books in this series for Christmas i read them and fell in love. The characters have amazing relationships and I could not help but compare the character of Elena Gilbert from The Vampire Diaries to a combination of the characters of Cassie and Diana in this novel. That made this novel very interesting to read. Overall this novel is very good and I would have loved to see more in this series by LJ NOT by some person claiming to be her. That has come as a disappointment to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Great Read by L.J. Smith! This book was a very nice read! Well-written and a very good plot! I previously read Ms. L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries and fell in love with it, so I thought - why wouldn't I enjoy this, too? And I was right! This book had great characters, a nice love story, a little bit of drama and a great supernatural edge! Overall, this is a definite recommendation to anyone who loves a well-written supernatural book with some intrigue, action and romance!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from kind of slow, but good I read L.J Smith's "The Vampire Diaries" and absolutely loved it, so when I saw "The Secret Circle" on the shelf, I bought it right away. The story starts off kind of slow but eventually picks up around the end. If you are the type of person who likes books with tons of suspense and excitement, I would not recommend reading this novel. However, if you can live through a slow beginning, this is the book for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Familiar and fun LJ Smith once again delves into the supernatural, this time by digging up actual lore and spells from the times of old. In this, she introduces a group of teenaged "mechanical" witches, witches who derive their power from tools and items as well as mental power. Throw in a couple of murders, blackmail, and forbidden love, and you have the Secret Circle trilogy. A guilty pleasure, I admit, but fun and intruiging all the same.
