Several of his novels were adapted into films during the silent era and the first three of these books were made into notable films in the sound era, in 1940, 1952, and 1935 respectively.
“The Snare” is an excellent novel written by Sabatini that relates the events of Peninsular War.  The main characters in these novel are numerous. Lord O'Moy, his frivolous wife, her strong-willed cousin, and their faithful family friend. Their personal intrigues are awkwardly tied in with facts about the larger war effort. All twists of the nove are interesting, and shows the story through so many different perspectives. Read it and find out the main intrigue.
