Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of comfort food recipes and helpful tips for those new to cooking with cast iron This cookbook has chapters such as Breakfast, Biscuits and Breads, Fixin's, Seafood, Poultry, Meat and Dessert. It helps so what a versatile cook a cast iron pan is. I love mine and use them frequently. You could cook entire meals in 1-2 of these. If you're new to cast iron, or are concerned about fat/calories, you might not enjoy this book, or style of cooking. Because they are not non-stick, even a well-seasoned pan will require so fat for cooking. I've made about half of the recipes so far, and like all recipes, I have tweaking a few, but overall, I really like the book, and in my opinion it is good value for money, and very useful.

Editorial Reviews

"I'm amazed at everything Elena can do with her beloved cast iron! She talks us through how to care for cast iron and even how to bring it back to life in case we find a skillet in someone's backyard, like she did. Elena opens our eyes to just how many foods can be made in a cast iron skillet! This book is full of so much love, and the family recipes she has so graciously shared with us will become my family's favorites too!"—Christina Lane, author of Dessert for Two and Sweet and Simple
