Rated 4 out of 5 by from Real The story begins with Francis who through a series of misfortunes, her ex-husband being one of them, moves into the grand home of her ex-mother-in-law with her two sons. Two thirds of the novel is about Francis and all those who come to inhabit the house and how each is involved with the concerns of society.
