Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't judge a book by its cover..based on a reality show! Don't judge a book by its cover..which I mean by that, that the content of this book is far more real, true and honest about what Kat Von D is, compared to what you've seen on L.A. Ink.. (which was totally staged and phony clearly made for an audience purpose. Ahhhhh, "reality shows"). But hey, it did make us discovered a genuine sensitive human being, with her unique style, her ups and downs, her addiction battles and someone who truly opens up about her emotions and day to day life. Nice pictures and drawings. It shows overall a good sense of aesthetic and details. A nice coffee table book, made like a personal journal presentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of Kat, and although I'm not a huge fan of tattoos on me, I absolutely loved reading about the stories behind why people get tattoos. This book is also so gorgeous, you can tell she designs every inch of everything she makes, and it is always high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and inspiring Kat is one of my biggest inspirations, I know she seems a bit bitchy on the show, but she that doesn't come across at all in her writing. This is a beautiful book, not only in the design and layout, but also in the quality of the book itself. This would make a great gift for a fan of hers, or someone who loves tattoos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good book I own all 3 of Kat Von D's books. I started them without any expectations. I thought they were great, everyone who has seen the tv show don't care for her based on that but her books show who she truly is. Not only is the content good but the overall design of the book is great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wasn't what I expected Although I enjoyed the book, I have to admit that it wasn't what I thought it would be. What I was expecting and looking forward to reading was diary entries about her everyday customers, their tattoos, and the interesting stories behind them. Instead I read more about her relationship with Nikki Sixx than anything else, and for the most part, the stories of her everyday customers didn't go into as much detail as I would've liked. I did however, enjoy the photography and the stories that she did go into detail with. No matter how I or anybody else feels about Kat's personality, ego, or whatever else, I can't deny her talent as a tattoo artist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't be Fooled Please do not be misled by how moronic Kat sounds on the TV show...she is very eloquent and writes from the heart. I absolutely can understand that...sometimes it comes out better on paper in my own life, too. Taken from her journals, Blood Books she calls them, this book tells a bit about specific tattoos that she has done and then she ties in what she learned from her clients with her own crazy, busy life. Much of this revolves around her relationship with Nikki Sixx, which I was sad to see end recently (in real time). You will also get some insight into how the TV show interferes with her vision of how things could be and that what you see is not always "reality". I personally record the show and fast forward through all the drama and simply watch the tattoos being done. It is so personal and heartwarming (or breaking) to hear the stories..and after reading this I can see that it is that way for Kat as well. Highly recommended, great quality photos, too. Looking forward to, hopefully, a volume two!
