Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little different, but very entertaining! This makes for a great change from the usual British/American fantasy - the slavic style can take a little getting used to, but it's well worth pushing through that initial culture shock. The Witcher series has compelling characters, inventive settings (that makes fresh use of the old fairy tale tropes), and a dry humour that really sneaks up on you!

Editorial Reviews

The Lady of the Lake is, without any doubt, the best and most profound fantasy novel I have ever read. It is hard to put down, yet also a challenging and deeply rewarding book. And it is genuinely moving. I have never read a fantasy series like this, and suspect I never will again."-Nerds of a Feather on The Lady of the Lake
