How do you outwit a Twit?

Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the smelliest, nastiest, ugliest people in the world. They hate everything—except playing mean jokes on each other, catching innocent birds to put in their Bird Pies, and making their caged monkeys, the Muggle-Wumps, stand on their heads all day. But the Muggle-Wumps have had enough. They don't just want out, they want revenge.

Rated out of 5 by from A good lesson about nasty people The Twits by Roald Dahl is a very short novel that can be read in less than one hour. Children will enjoy The Twits much more than adults would because of the descriptions and the characters involved; there are humans, monkeys, and birds. The Twits teaches a good lesson that people with nasty, evil thoughts start to look ugly themselves, and if you do something bad to others, the same bad thing may happen to you. Mr. and Mrs. Twit are old (in their sixties), hideous, and disgusting. Both like to play tricks on each other and do outrageous things. Someone’s out to get revenge… I highly recommend The Twits for children, since they will likely find the story more enjoyable than adults will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disgusting, dark, grim, and great! The twits are a couple of disgusting, nasty, mean, trick-playing filthy people told in that wonderful over-the-top style Dahl is known for. You can't help but laugh at their antics, and the tale is a delight for children and adults both. Dahl's ability to describe things with a few evocative words never ceases to amaze me - I cringed at his description of the wretched Mr. Twit's beard, and my niece and nephew howled with delight at the way the Twits are eventually given their comeuppance. By no means a serious story, but nonetheless, a worthwhile read!
