Rated 4 out of 5 by from "The Vampire and the Virgin" by Kerrelyn Sparks. Book 8 in the Love at Stake series. I really enjoyed this addition to the Love at Stake series. Funny, romantic and action packed. What more could you ask for? Robby is a vampire set on revenge. He's trying to recover from being held prisoner and tortured by the evil vampire Casimir. His family wants him to see a therapist but the last thing Robby wants to do is talk about what happened to him. As a compromise, Robby is sent to Patmos (Greece) for 4 months to take some time to recover. When he's there, the last thing he expects is to meet a Greek Goddess...who happens to be a therapist! Olivia is in Patmos visiting her grandmother. Her grandmother is doing everything she can to find Olivia a nice Greek husband. But it's hard to get to know someone when you're a human lie detector. But when she meets Robby, she can't read him at all. Just when she thinks she could be falling for him, she needs to go back to Kansas City. The criminal she helped convict and is now in solitary confinement has somehow been sending her apples with notes. He must have an accomplice...but all the way in Greece? Or is Robby not who she thinks he is? A really excellent story line. Robby's growth from revenge obsessed to loyal protector and lover to Olivia was really nice to see. And Olivia learning to trust Robby without knowing his feelings showed real growth in her character as well. Good action sequences throughout and great chemistry between Robby and Olivia. All around and excellent book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast paced and fun Mini Book Review: Won't lie to you, wasn't expecting much from the title, but Natasha convinced me that I would enjoy it. She was right, it was a perfect light and funny read with plenty of action to keep the story moving. I understand that it is part of a series but the story is told in such a way, that you really don't need to read the rest of the series to figure out what is going on. Robbie and Olivia are both charming, likeable leads and the secondary characters get you intrigued enough to want to know more about them, in other words just enough to go out and get the other books in the series (Yup, I will be doing that). I like Kerrelyn's writing style and the dialogue is just plain hilarious at times. This would be perfect for a day at the beach or to escape on a cold winters night. 3.75 Dewey's I borrowed this from Natasha - after I totally gave it to her for Christmas last year

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Read! Robby is forced to take a vacation to recover from his torture from the enemy, and Olivia is sent on vacation to relax and forget a man who is stalking her from behind bars. Olivia is special as she can feel emotions, but when she meets Robby and feels nothing she is all the more interested. But when Olivia receives a package from her stalker at her grandmother's in the Greek islands where only a select few people know, she leaves the island and Robby behind. Olivia is determined to figure out who is helping this stalker when he is behind bars but when he escapes from prison, Robby will stop at nothing to protect Olivia. Great story, and characters!
