Accurate evidenced based nutrition and a sensible approach to chronic disease risk reduction presented in a manner that oozes his love of the good food and the art of its preparation. A great book to get going on eating a plant based diet. Starts with excellent guides/tables about foods to eat more often and those to enjoy less often. Includes how to store and prepare foods in each of the categories and then provides recipes that fit vegan, ovo-lacto vegetarian and those with animal protein based dishes for the "flexitarian" (a person who has a primarily vegetarian diet but occasionally eats meat or fish).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good concept, but does not deliver I bought this book online hoping to find some original and interesting recipes to increase the amount of vegan meals that we eat at home and the price was right. The book has a nice layout and the recipes are easy and they give a suggested monthly menu. You can find equivalent recipes in your existing cookbooks: banana bread, rice pudding, peas and carrot salad, tomato soup.This was not a good investment but the concept of a flexitarian cookbook is good.
