Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very exciting, heartbreaking, feels like your in it story. I stumbled upon the tv show one night and fell in love the detail they put into their character development (Daryl Dixon ftw) I am now on a hellatus right now and i figured, being a comic fan that i would pick this up and give it a go, hoping it would be really good. It is similar, yet different from the tv show as is every book/comic they turn into something for the big screen. This comic wasn't good. IT WAS BRILLIANT! I couldn't put this down i ended up reading it all in 3 days, loving every minute, feeling how they felt when they were finally "safe" for a minute but always having that thought in the back of my head "something is going to happen any page now" . When characters died, Robert put so much effort into the mourning process, letting a few characters loose it and then the ones that were strong through it all keeping it together for the good of the group, but mentally were as broken and lost as the ones who were physically showing it. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is a walking dead fan. Even if you don't like comics the writing in this comic is amazing, and you will fall in love with the characters, feeling there happiness, sorrow and all the other emotions expressed in this collection of comics. It is a great deal if you can get it under $50.00 which it usually is on chapters, so buy it! :3 I

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Book, Great Series I just finished reading the first compendium and had to get this. Both compendiums are a must buy if you're a fan of the TV Show. One problem I had was the bottom of the spine was a little bit tore, not very big enough to notice but it was still there. Definitely recommend buying both compendiums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I hate zombie stuff. But this was thoughtful, intelligent, heart-breaking and heart-warming. The first part was very heart breaking. In fact alot of this novel was really dealing with alot of heartache and how people go on in the midst of it all. So many questions to ask that we think while reading the novel, and they start answering some of it, and just when we think things will be resolved... well sometimes they are and sometimes they're not. My favourite part of the novel was Chapter 16. The main reason I started reading the novels was because of the hope I saw while watching the show (as ironic as that sounds.) It's so hard to have hope in the midst of such crappy circumstances. This had some of the most heart warming moments in the whole graphic novel. I hate zombies in general, never have gotten into them at all, never was a genre I wanted to delve into, but The Walking Dead really helped me in a lot of ways to potentially look into other zombie things (I'm still not convinced that I will like them.) I really appreciated the authors/artists who compiled this and the way they put it all together. It fit so well! And you can tell there was a lot of thought put into how they wanted to present the big news, or sometimes make it seem minor when it was actual huge news. Very thoughtfully done. The dialogue in it sometimes was a little bit wooden, but you can't get away from that, it happens in some novels. But, overall very impressed with how intelligent and coherent the story is so far. I look forward to Compendium 3 or wherever this story goes until.
