The first book explained how the Governor was created; this thrilling sequel to The New York Times bestseller further reveals his ruthless, inhuman conquest of Woodbury

The zombie plague unleashes its horrors on the suburbs of Atlanta without warning, pitting the living against the dead. Caught in the mass exodus, Lilly Caul struggles to survive in a series of ragtag encampments and improvised shelters. But the Walkers are multiplying. Dogged by their feral hunger for flesh and crippled by fear, Lilly relies on the protection of good Samaritans by seeking refuge in a walled-in town once known as Woodbury, Georgia.

At first, Woodbury seems like a perfect sanctuary. Squatters barter services for food, people have roofs over their heads, and the barricade expands, growing stronger every day. Best of all, a mysterious self-proclaimed leader named Philip Blake keeps the citizens in line. But Lilly begins to suspect that all is not as it seems. . . . Blake, who has recently begun to call himself The Governor, has disturbing ideas about law and order.

Ultimately, Lilly and a band of rebels open up a Pandora's box of mayhem and destruction when they challenge The Governor's reign . . . and the road to Woodbury becomes the highway to hell in this riveting follow-up to Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga's New York Times bestselling The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two for Two, Shall We Make it Three? As stated in my review of book one, damn fine writing on par with Stephen King. Zombies aside, thisis some fine stylized writing. Episodic by design, looking forward to book three!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read way too fast - GREAT BOOK! Ever start reading a book you know your going to love, wanting to read it nice and slow, to savor each and every page, and then end up reading it too darn fast because it's just THAT GOOD?? Now as I sit here writing this review, I am at a loss to describe the emptiness I feel knowing I have just finished the last of the novel series, The Walking Dead, that allowed me to immerse myself in its pages, get to know each character, whether good or bad, and in fact, MAKING me read it too fast to its finale BECAUSE it was just that good. I will miss you, and I will savor the hours of immersion in that very disturbing, believable, world that you afforded me. Oh, and I so recommend it to any one looking for great writing, and nail-biting suspense.

Rated out of 5 by from Hm I've been checking everyday since release as well in my area as well...and still nothing. I went to order it in store, but they talked me out of it (twice), saying that they'd have it in store sooner than if I ordered it. Pretty lame!
Date published: 2012-10-26
Rated out of 5 by from this is some BS; why no store has the book that was released a week ago and is clearly a popular seller is absurd. I've been checking daily and not one store within 100kms has had a copy since the 16th. ANYONE WHO WANTS THIS BOOK SHOULD MAKE THEIR PURCHASE ELSEWHERE REGARDLESS IF CHAPTERS EVENTUALLY GETS THEM (NO ONLINE ORDERS EITHER) BOYCOTT THE COMPANY THATS WILLING TO TELL YOU ITS COMING IN THEIR STORES THE 16th BUT THEN GOES "MEH, I DONT KNOW, ITS THE SUPPLIERS FAULT, THEYRE DELAYED WITH THEIR SHIPMENTS...." BULL -- I'VE SEEN COMMENTS FROM LOTS OF PEOPLE ONLINE SAYING THE COPY THEY ORDERED ONLINE HAS ALREADY ARRIVED AT THEIR HOUSE ... SO THIS IS A CHAPTERS PROBLEM. F CHAPTERS!
Date published: 2012-10-24
Rated out of 5 by from I've gone to multiple Chapters and none of them have this product.. It was supposed to be out October 16th, it's the 19th Now. I ordered it online but still haven't gotten anything.
