about

Minimal text and stunning photographs from around the world describe the remarkable, and often dangerous, journeys children make every day on their way to and from school. No simple school bus picks them up each day, but rather children travel through disaster zones, cross rapids, climb mountains, and maneuver on ziplines daily to get to the classroom. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent book to kick-start inquiry-based learning I first saw this book in the spring when it came into the school library and knew that I had to have my own copy. Full of photographs and easy-to-comprehend text, it provides first-world students a different perspective on the perseverance that other children around the world must show just to get to school and home again. An excellent social studies resource and read-aloud suitable for Gr. 2 and up.
