But the simplified, clearly outlined plan ironically can make it easier to follow, eliminating decision fatigue. The slow-carb diet (same, but with cheat days and added legumes and lentils) may be easier to follow for some.

Note, this book does rely on meat for almost every meal so if you're not a big meat eater, you may not get a lot out of it

The recipes in this book are simple to follow - note there are not a lot in this one book, 1/2 of it is explaining the program which is necessary for you to complete your Whole30 successfully.

I have since completed my round 2 of Whole30 last month and have gained better results. I still use some of the recipes only because eating healthy doesn't need to stop after 30 days.

I did a few resets back to back with this book's rules and recipes and I never felt so good. The recipes are quick, easy and tasty with lots of flavor. Best part, Whole30 doesn't ask you to use obscure items that you wouldn't normally have in your kitchen either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Drink Their Kool-aid!!! I'd even say 4.5. I've loved my 30 days of eating amazing food (and I'm a junk foodie) and they had great recipes. I'm not seeing ALL of the amazing results (which they did say it could take longer for some people) and it is hard work! Very hard. Two things that made it worth it: 1) I never had to decide what to grab for lunch on a workday bc it was usually leftovers, and 2) My husband helping and supporting me the whole time. I for sure would have given up, but I cooked my butt off this month and I don't even really know how/ usually hate cooking! (Hence this on my Romance shelf... lol) I'm going to do my best to stick to their guidelines, as I really do look and feel better. Looks like some cults are worth drinking their Kool-aid!!!

Give up certain food groups for 30 days and feel amazing! Then slowly reintroduce those food groups and see how your body reacts. I feel so much better. I found that I can't tolerate dairy. I never knew this until after my first Whole30. If you are looking for a healthy lifestyle change, give it a shot! What have you got to loose? #paleo

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great premise, middling recipes After finding out about Whole30, I went ahead and bought this book; I figured it was an easy spend if the diet lived up to expectations. While I understand the Whole30 concept and don't have any overt objection to it, I found it ultimately unsustainable. There's a lot of thought involved in keeping the diet balanced, and it is expensive to maintain. That said, this book is very informative and easy to read. If only the recipes were written - and tested - by people who cook. I found proportions to be out of whack (how small are the cauliflowers they get?), and the instructions tantamount to, 'cook until done.' Before donating this book, I copied out the recipes for mayonnaise, ranch dressing and Italian vinaigrette. The mayo alone was worth the price of admission - we've not gotten store-bought since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Gift to Yourself (or anyone!) I read the "It Starts With Food" book first and found it provided all the necessary information to set me up for success. The "Whole 30-30 Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom" book compliments the other and the two books would make an excellent gift set for anyone concerned with improving their well-being. I wouldn't say this is a "diet book" yet a healthy way of living and anyone can do it. If you adopt their plan and eat the foods they suggest you will feel better, sleep better, have more energy, less inflammation, clear skin and you will lose weight if you have extra to shed. The book also provides fantastic recipes and photos in the second half. These books truly shifted my way of thinking and because I feel so great eating the foods they suggest, I will try to maintain the Whole30 lifestyle.

I always try things before I ask anyone else to do any kind of change. This book is amazing for real change! I am going to be getting this for everyone for christmas. It's tough love in the best way. We all know food is a killer if not used in the right way and this breaks it down how to get real results. Looking at all these pages I have been eating very much like this for a long time but its nice to have it in a book that I can hand to someone to give them a path that can help them for the better!! GET THIS BOOK you will be glad you did !! If your looking for a magic pill lol it is not out there so keep scrolling. If you want to change things in your life for real results then get this book!!!

This book is easy to follow, the recipes are now on regular rotation in my kitchen. I believe as we age, our bodies become more intolerant to certain foods. Returning to eating real food allows your body a much needed break and certainly clears your head. This resource outlines how to eliminate toxins in your body and follows up with a systematic reintroduction to foods known to be problemmatic so as to allow for identification of substances which adversely affect the proper functioning of the body. This book also uses simple, down to earth vocabulary and direct speech to put the reader's personal journey into context to ensure the best success. Super read and terrific resource!
