In this New York Times bestselling sequel to Dorothy Must Die, who is good—and who is actually Wicked? The Wicked Will Rise is perfect for fans of richly reimagined fairy tales and classic tales like Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles and Gregory Maguire’s Wicked.

My name is Amy Gumm—and I’m the other girl from Kansas. After a tornado swept through my trailer park, I ended up in Oz. But it wasn’t like the Oz I knew from books and movies. Dorothy had returned, but she was now a ruthless dictator. Glinda could no longer be called the Good Witch. And the Wicked Witches who were left? They’d joined forces as the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked, and they wanted to recruit me.

My mission? Kill Dorothy. Except my job as assassin didn’t work out as planned. Dorothy is still alive. The Order has vanished. And the home I couldn’t wait to leave behind might be in danger.

Somehow, across a twisted and divided land, I have to find the Order, protect the true ruler of Oz, take Dorothy and her henchmen down—and try to figure out what I’m really doing here.

Danielle Paige graduated from Columbia University. She worked in the television industry, where she received a Writers Guild of America Award and was nominated for several Daytime Emmys. Paige is the author of the best-selling title Dorothy Must Die and its digital prequel novellas, No Place Like Oz and The Witch Must Burn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Second book I usually start to lose interest in sequels of books but this kept my interest. It really explains a lot of the story that leads into the rest of the series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good at the first, but still worth a read! I stumbled across the first book in this series by accident and fell in love with it. This one was not quite as good, the story seemed a little bit more forced. But I still enjoyed it, and look forward to reading the next in the series!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Wicked will rise Was an alright book - not as good as the first. Diverged too much from what felt like the main story line into a crazier, offshoot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Exciting Fun read! I really want to know how it all ends!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sequel Was very well written and was definitely just as interesting as the first. Although I have to day I did prefer the first book but that's always the case. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy remakes

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Wicked Will Rise Fast Past.....loved the twists

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sequel! The beginning is a little irritating to read if you're reading the series in order with no breaks in-between as she summarizes information from the first novel, but other than that, it did not disappoint! Although, it was much too short for me! :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quick, easy read but rushed story and underdeveloped characters It's a quick and easy read, but doesn't hold any of the magic of Oz. Most of the characters are totally self-absorbed and a bit whiney. I felt myself wanting more character and story development, the whole story feels a bit rushed. I will finish the series, but it's not one I will gush about to friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I love that the Wicked aren't what you expect. Each novel is so different from each other but still following the same story.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great book personally i liked the first book more, but i love this series

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Just like the first book in the series I found the extensive talk about all things quirky and fanciful a bit tiring as the simple language did not create any great feelings towards the imagery. It was an okay, easy read, but nothing special, especially since it doesn't possess the novelty that the first book did on the wizard of oz story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This is such a good series and I want more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good. Not as good as book one but still good. Funny, action packed, and romancy ish. I love these characters and how Danielle Paige has built this world.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very middle-book-ish The Wicked Will Rise had similar strengths to Dorothy Must Die, with a wicked twist on Oz, creepy characters, and a smart, irreverent heroine. However, it also suffered from a near fatal case of Middle Book Syndrome. It was short, kind of rushed, with not a ton of resolution or climax. It was a short and gradual climb towards what I'm sure will be an interesting third book, but this one was a bit of a disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Enjoyable and a great plot! You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and root for them as they continue their journey. This is a book you won’t be able to put down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes!! Just finished this one the other day, and it was just as good as the first. Can't wait to read the third book!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lacking The first book in this series captured my interest, but this one is making me lose interest. I love the novellas that are attached to this series (if you haven't checked them out, please do). Yet, I can't seem to get into the main storyline, I don't know if it is because it drags on, or so many ridiculous things happen, but I can't get into it. Here's to hoping the next one is better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Read! I read Dorothy Must Die and fell in love with the whole twist of the classic story. I will admit that it was a quick read, but there were many unanswered questions. I love the way the author tells the story, and the twists and turns she took throughout the book. Great read :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly done A confusing story twisting in circles with an ending that leaves you with many questions and no answers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sequel I loved this story just as much as the first! Danielle Paige did not disappoint with the second installment of the Dorothy Must Die series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Book 3 What a way to end a book! Total cliff-hanger. Lulu is ptobably my favorite character in here. I am so ready for book 3! I need it now.
