Rated 4 out of 5 by from An honest, blunt, and fascinating read. Having completed an undergraduate degree with an epidemiological focus a few years ago, I am always interested in remaining current with the AIDS situation and gaining insight into the worldwide controversies and business that seem to be associated with it. I found Ms Pisani's work to be incredibly thorough and a real eye-opener, filled with controversial and in-depth examinations of several significant issues that face the AIDS epidemic and its implications today. She writes with a very confident, yet bitterly humourous approach. I would certainly recommed this book to anyone who is interested in breaking away from a one dimensional approach and gaining some fascinating insight and "behind the scenes" looks at the situation with a global perspective.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wisdom of Whores An excellent look into the world of AIDS and the people trying to do something about it... trying, being the operative word. Pisani writes with sharp witt and acidic cynicism toward the people making the decisions about AIDS funding, mixed with the right seasoning of compassion and openness for the vicitims just trying to survive. If you've ever wondered about what's happening in the underbelly of societies around the globe, this book lays it bare in stark detail.
