An ancient evil is stirring, intent on the complete destruction of all life. The Druid Allanon sets out on a dangerous journey to save the world, reluctantly aided by Brin Ohmsford, daughter of Wil Ohmsford—for she alone holds the magic power of the wishsong. But a prophecy foretells doom, as evil nurses its plan to trap the unsuspecting Brin into a fate far more horrible than death.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generations continue the fight Each generation has its own demons, but the Omsfords take that a little extra literally; a brilliant conclusion to the first Shannara series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from one of my all time favorites! this is one of those books that i can re read all the time and find new things that i enjoy about the story. The story line is fast paced action packed and the storyline is believeable. Its a beautiful story with elves, orcs ,wraiths and magic. i would advise anyone to read any one of Terry Brooks books because they are well written and very much worth the time to slip away in briliant story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible tale I read the first king a while back, thought it was good, then proceeded in the series and read the sword. Afterwards, I read the elfstones, but never did I expect Terry's talent for telling incredible tales to ascend as they did! remarkable how the wishsong is, defenitely my favourite of the original 3! I found some of my most favoured characters in this book (along with some ones I despised *cough brin) anyways, this book is awesome! Read up!
