about

”Kimberly Belle delivers the goods—a rocket-paced story with a heart that will keep you riveted through every hairpin twist and turn. Breathless suspense!” —Lisa Unger, New York Times bestselling author of The Red Hunter

Those closest to us are often the most dangerous…

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: the call that comes in the middle of the night. When Kat Jenkins awakens to the police on her doorstep, her greatest fear is realized. Her nine-year-old son, Ethan, is missing—vanished from the cabin where he’d been on an overnight class trip. Shocked and distraught, Kat rushes to the campground, but she’s too late; the authorities have returned from their search empty-handed after losing Ethan’s trail in the mountain forest.

Another mother from the school, Stef Huntington, seems like she has it all: money, prominence in the community, a popular son and a loving husband. She hardly knows Kat, except for the vicious gossip that swirls around Kat’s traumatic past. But as the police investigation unfolds, Ethan’s disappearance has earth-shattering consequences for Stef, as her path crosses with Kat. As the two mothers race against the clock, their desperate search for answers reveals how the greatest dangers lie behind the everyday smiles of those they trust the most.

Kimberly Belle worked in marketing and nonprofit fund-raising before turning to writing fiction. A graduate of Agnes Scott College, Kimberly lived for over a decade in the Netherlands and currently divides her time between Atlanta and Amsterdam. She is the bestselling author of The Marriage Lie, as well as The Last Breath and The Ones We Trust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Every parent/teacher can relate to this story. It’s about an 8 year old boy who goes missing on an overnight school trip. Being a parent and a teacher, I could relate to the horror/guilt Miss Emma was living and complete shock as a parent’s worst nightmare! If you haven’t read it yet, hurry up, you won’t be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great thriller! This was the first book I have read by Kimberly Belle and I have heard so much praise for Three Days Missing. After picking up my copy at a local bookstore I was excited to begin and I knew I would not be disappointed. Kimberly Belle has a way with writing that draws you in and captures your attention throughout the entire book. I was on the edge of my seat and I was flying through the chapters, eager to see what would happen next. Three Days Missing was a fast-paced thriller that leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed the who done it vibe to the story. There were a few times when I thought I knew who might be responsible and behind young Ethan’s disappearance, but I was wrong again and again. I love when a story keeps you guessing, and makes you doubt everyone involved. Even those closest to you are under suspicions of being responsible. Who can you trust, if even those closest to you in your everyday life cannot be trusted? Those who know you daily life, your ups and downs, your innermost thoughts and secrets? Three Days Missing is full of characters who are diverse, complicated, and have their own fair share of secrets. Full of shocking lies, twists, turns, betrayals, deceptions and lies, this book will rock you to the very shocking end! I loved this book and I hope you do too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid suspense that kept me guessing! Belle's voice sucked me in straight away, and I'm a sucker for fiction that comes out of the gate hot. More than a handful of well-crafted twists made THREE DAYS MISSING unpredictable enough to keep me on my toes, and the emotional content from both mothers felt authentic and grounded. I wish that I'd had more time to read more than 50 pages a night, because I would've burned through it. A great choice for those who prefer less sinister suspense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally blew me away I have never read this author before, but I do have to say that I think I have found another favorite. As soon as I thought I figured it out, I was wrong. Did not see the ending coming. This is one that I would highly recommend. #indigoemployee

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Completely Captivating! This book was a spectacular roller coaster of a read that I could not put down! Following the three days after Kat's son Ethan has gone missing from a school camping trip, this story unwinds at rapid fire pace, with twists coming at you left and right. I loved, more than anything else, the fact that this story felt rooted in a very real place of what a response for a missing child would look like, and more specifically, how absolutely stuck a parent would be in panic, terror and inability to do anything more than wait. There is something remarkably satisfying in reading a story where the responses of the characters resonate in reality - in this case, the fact that while Kat was panicked and desperate to find her son, there was very little for her to actually physically DO except stay out from under the police search and not get herself in the way. This to me, is far more interesting to read than a story where a parent of a missing child suddenly develops FBI level abilities to track and save their own kid, outsmarting the villain and the cops in the process. That is all to say that Kimberley Belle writes wonderfully human characters - even her most devious and dark characters have redeeming human traits to them, that let you understand why they might have done what they have done. And those characters let you connect to the story in a very deep way. Overall this is an absolute must read for those who love a good whodunit mystery that will keep you on your toes late into the night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect summer read I very much enjoyed this book, although half way through, I felt like I knew 'who did it'. Don't let that discourage you from reading it, there was soooo many questions through out the book, you couldn't put it down, wanting all the answers. Quick moving and very entertaining. My only complaint would be it wasn't as detailed or in depth as her other books. I feel it could've been slightly more of a 'meatier' read and still been just as satisfying. The characters were likeable, so I just wished it had been a bit longer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast-paced and suspenseful summer read! Told from the perspectives of two mothers, each fearing for the safety of their sons after one of the boys goes missing from camp, this book follows the search over the three days. With friends and the community all rushing to help find the missing boy, there is no shortage of suspects to cast doubt around. It’s up to the two mothers and the police to find the boy and unravel the mystery behind the abduction before it’s too late. Fast-paced and suspenseful, Three Days Missing is just the right read for this summer. This was one that I spent an afternoon on the patio reading and I couldn't put down!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Summer read I had selected this book for our monthly book club and once I started it I was unable to put it down for very long. I finished it in a day. Great summer read. Quick and suspenseful. Although I had kinda figured out what had happened before it got to the end it was still exciting to watch the characters figure it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!!! I am only half way through this book. I've been reading for like 12 hours off and on and I am hooked. If only I didn't have to work or take care of my family. I would have read it from start to finish in a day. I can't wait to see how it ends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An interesting read After Ethan Jenkins goes missing while on an overnight outdoor education trip with his exclusive Atlanta private school, the authorities mobilize a search with little success. After some investigating, it becomes apparent that this was an abduction, but Ethan was not the target. The target was actually his classmate, Sammy Huntington, the son of the mayor. Why was Sammy the target? As the case is investigated the reader is taken on an interesting journey. A very good read.

When an eight-year-old is kidnapped from a remote Georgia campground, two seemingly opposite mothers fight to recover the boy. Every minute counts as Belle keeps the story racing to its gripping end, but the most intriguing element of the book is the interplay between disparate characters. Belle resists easy conclusions and nearly every relationship-be it spouse, family, friend, or foe-doubles down on its intricacies during the course of the action, making readers acutely aware of the unfathomable space between ourselves and others. Absolutely unputdownable. I couldn't let go of this book until I'd devoured the last page."-Mindy Mejia, author of Everything You Want Me to Be"Three Days Missing is a taut, intelligent, heart-pounding thriller about two mothers whose lives intersect when the unimaginable happens and a little boy goes missing. Belle weaves a spellbinding tale of suspense and family drama that twists and turns until the final pages.
