He is the author of the classics 'Alice´s Adventures in Wonderland' (1865) and 'Through the Looking-Glass' (1872). His works are characterized by his wonderful ability in the genre of literary nonsense. He died in 1898. The Story of 'Through the Looking-Glass' is set some six months later than the one of 'Alice´s Adventures in Wonderland'. Again the curious little girl enters a fantastical world, this time by climbing through a mirror. The book includes such well-known verses as 'Jabberwocky' or 'The Walrus and the Carpenter', and the episode involving Tweedledum and Tweedledee. This edition is decorated with 36 beautiful illustrations by Peter Newell (1862-1924).
