Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly.

Until, that is, she receives a summons that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Tunstells in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to cross the Mediterranean. But Egypt may hold more mysteries than even the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does the vampire Queen of the Alexandria Hive really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy Tunstell suddenly become the most popular actress in all the British Empire?
TIMELESS is the final book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok The ending of this series was a bit of a let down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You have got to be kidding me! Ugh! Horrible! I thoroughly enjoyed the first book. The second was a bit of a let-down. Then it all just kept getting worse. It all became so trite! And the big, tie-in story was THE WORST! It was as if Carriger woke up one morning, realized that she was writing her last novel of the series and that she still had no clue where she was going with it, and then watched some Doctor Who reruns for inspiration (for those of you in the know, think "Cassandra"). I'm so disappointed in myself for sticking this out until the bitter, dissatisfying end.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A disappointing ending While the bits about the now bigger infant inconvenience are entertaining, I found the bulk of this story disappointing and dull. It provides some good answers about lingering questions regarding supporting characters and such and lays out the future for the main characters which is also nice, but the plot itself was odd and a little difficult to follow. Certainly not the usual compelling type of storyline found in the rest of the series. Worth it if you want absolutely all the details, but was honestly completely satisfied with the end of book 4 as the end of the series.

Editorial Reviews

"The world of Timeless is a unique recipe of steampunk and fantasy spiced with light sprinkling of romance. Its setting is rich for characters to romp about in, but the unbridled playfulness of the language and dialogue shines brightest."-Miami Herald on Timeless
