Marla Sanders lives an alternate lifestyle.  She’s a believer.  Astrology mainly.  The occult.  The spiritual.  Paranormal.  The world’s soul.  The powers that bring fantasy to life.  It shouldn’t be a far stretch to believe in vampires.  It really shouldn’t.  Especially when the one that appears is young.  Very handsome.  Extremely fit.  And claiming her.

Cullen MacCorrick was born to war.  Fighting for an independent Scotland got him an execution sentence.  Vampirism set him free.  Centuries of afterlife haven’t altered him much.  He’s got a perfect bachelor life.  No plans.  No encumbrances.  No complications.  A seer warned him before his capture to stay away from Stonehenge.  And he did.  Until…

Marla’s on this once-in-a-lifetime trip.  It includes the inner circle at Stonehenge.  On the eve of the Fall Equinox.  The monolith is lit with sunset hues.  The atmosphere is electric.  Her horoscope foretold of a date with destiny.  A new beginning.  Another chance.  Oddly…there wasn’t a word in there about Cullen...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "To Love" by Jackie Ivie. Book 21 in the Vampire Assassin League series. I read this novella in October 2014. This was my review. What a fun little novella length book! Short, sweet and to the point. Very fast paced. Witty and very charming. Cullen and Marla make a very cute couple. Marla is an astrologist who believes everything happens for a reason and if you know someone's star-sign, then you know the person already. So when her boyfriend dumps her and she goes on a trip to Stonehenge alone, she should have seen that coming, right? Cullen is a vampire on a mission to take out his next target. The last thing he expected was to meet his destined-mate at Stonehenge. And he certainly didn't expect her to save his undead life. I have to say that my favourite part of this novella was near the end when Nigel shows up. (If you follow the series, Nigel is the assistant to Akron, the boss of the Vampire Assassin League). His banter with Akron is just hilarious and teases the reader as to what is coming for Nigel in the future. Overall, I liked this novella. The main characters were fun and very likable. Can't wait to read the next installment.
