A fresh, original project that will appeal to young parents who are fans of musical artists Feist or Norah Jones
Ira and Isabelle, who live in a little red house by the sea, decide one night to escape the sound of the city’s beeping cars and sail off to a faraway land where they learn from a new friend—a robin with a soft voice—that dreams really can come true. The book contains an audio CD that features the narrated story as well as 10 original heartwarming dream songs, and an ethereal rendition of Johannes Brahms’ classic “Cradle Song.”
Hilary Grist is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose songs have been part of nine major television shows. She has toured across Canada several times and recently released her fifth studio album entitled Come and Go. She lives in Vancouver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extraordinary! This is such a special book. It really is a magical journey! My sons (3 and 7) both love it. We initially got it on iTunes and it's lovely to have it read to us by author Hilary Grist's dreamy, articulate voice with the music threading through. We had to get the "real" book too and it's such a pleasure to page through. The simple story and message are comforting to me as an adult and both the boys and myself like to check out each picture to see what the illustrations were made with - there are new discoveries each time - like the drinking straw mast and the fork trees! So charming. The music is charming and lulling and hard to get out of your head (in in the best way). I find myself singing the title track to myself at night. I know this is a gushy review, but I can't recommend it highly enough as a gift for a new baby or a child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to any home library! I saw this book mentioned in a parenting magazine and as a teacher and young parent I'm always on the lookout for unique and beautiful children's books. This book and accompanying music will not disappoint! I was stunned by how beautiful the story and illustrations were, then put on the CD and was further pleased! The music is amazing - my daughter has even taken to falling asleep to it :) and it is so well done I'm more than happy to listen to it as well! This has been a great addition to our family library and I'm eager to buy it for all of our friends that are starting their families!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dreamy book, sleepy book Hilary Grist wrote the story, created the clay characters and performs her original songs. Her music is both soothing and restful, music that the whole family can tap into and enjoy. "Her smooth rhythmic text and stunning artwork cast in a soft light between sleep and waking, make a perfect summertime treat, wafting listeners into a reposeful musical world reminiscent of Norah Jones and Feist." Ira and Isabelle, a brother and sister, live in a tiny red house beside the sea. One night they decide to get on a boat and sail to a faraway land where they want to escape the sounds of the busy city. They encounter a gentle, soft-spoken robin, that convinces them that dreams truly can become a reality. The CD impacts minds and hearts with nine heartwarming dream songs culminating in a beautiful rendition of Johanne Brahm's classic "Cradle Song." The CD playlist is: *Tomorrow is a Chance to Start Over (Narration) *Tomorrow is a Chance to Start Over *Fall in my Loving Arms *Swallow Me up *Float Away *Le Petit Oiseau *Say Goodnight *City of Green and Blue *I'll Be There *Still *Cradle Song Duration time: 51 minutes The only word I can think of to describe this Book/CD is beautiful. I highly recommend it and know it would make a perfect gift for a newborn baby or to have in your own family collection.
