The moving, gripping, and tell–all autobiography of Traci Elizabeth Lords, a former child porn queen, electronica maven, and cult movie and TV star.

At 14, Nora Kuzma ran away from home and ended up on the dirty streets of Hollywood. She fell in with a fast crowd, and her dreams of modelling soon landed her a spectacular centrefold in Penthouse Magazine, where at 15 she became internationally known as TRACI LORDS. From there she appeared in numerous adult films and magazines, denying her past and battling a deep addiction to cocaine and men. Three years later she got out. This is her memoir–a tale of loss, redemption, and ultimate survival as Traci Elizabeth Lords takes you into her secretive past, faces her demons, and shares her extraordinary journey of personal growth.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A quick, glamorous and ultimately satisfying book about a woman who is much more than a former porn star This book is a quick read that will not tax the brain. it also features good writing from its author and there are exquisite chapters like the curse of the C cups and faster pussycat kill kill. We finally get Traci's perspective on her time in the porn industry and while there are occasional moments of self-pity its nothing too problematic. Above all there are many wonderful photos of her and her life which make the book reading all by itself. Flawed and a bit flaky, but a good book that I recommend

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A dark tale with a happy ending I read this book with the same sort of curiousity that most people will have when they pick it up. How does a underage porn star manage to leave that industry and then become a successful mainstream actress, not to mention a top dance mix performer too. The tale is not very happy and Traci starts off with every disadvantage possible in American society. She carefully relates her downward spiral into the adult entertainment world and quickly glosses over her three years in the industry. Throughout the book, Ms. Lords attempts to distance herself from taking responsibility for her troubled times as she points the blame on her drug addiction and the people in her life that she was relying on. It is never convincing, however, since she seems to take up with every Hollywood "bad boy" for years afterward. Clearly the author has a wild side that she likes to pretend is not really her own doing. Yet she seems somewhat surprised at the disasterous results that keep hounding her personal life. Ultimately it is her determination to keep trying that allows her to be successful and, more importantly, accepted in pop culture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing to cheer about I have read many books about pornography, this one is at best average, so she was young, she was taken advantage, but so much have been said by her in the past that one can only begin to try to figure out what is the truth. One little known book called Cut Throat Business, I am having the last word, exposes the industry, it contains a lot of information such as piracy, backstabbings, extortion, murder everything even the true cost of really making a 'flick' and about the corrupt people in the industry and would you guess it; it is of today, not 15 years ago like Ms Lord speaks about. If you like a Hollywood scripted story buy Ms Lords book, if you like to read something real and true by a unknown editor in the industry buy Cut Throat Business by C. Bridge.
