Rated 3 out of 5 by from :] This book was a lot slower to get into than his other books. As I read more I grew to hate Vivian and related to the story. However I loved the ending despite how heartbreaking it was. I literally balled my eyes out. It was heartbreaking and beautiful

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not his best It took me a while to get through this book. I usually love all of his books but this one couldn't keep my interest. I finished it just because I had already invested so much time into it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was ok This book was ok but I didn't enjoy it as much as other Nicholas Sparks books. I found it quite repetitive. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this book so much! I bought this book, as I do with every Nicholas Sparks book and I am so happy that I did!! This book just sucks you right in, you get so attached to the characters and I defiantly can say I bawled my eyes out on this one. I highly Recommend this book to everyone, you won't be disappointed. Happy Reading!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A litle different thah his usual style.. But...still a lovely read!! Love everything he does!!
Date published: 2018-07-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from not bad not a typical nicholas sparks book, but the storyline wasn't bad, cute at sometimes too
Date published: 2018-07-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different than usual, but still good! It was a different style than many of his other books -this one was about the love between a father and daughter, as opposed to between romantic partners. It was a good story, as usual he really brings you to care about the characters, and feel the emotions they're feeling. I'd recommend for any fan of Nicholas Sparks! #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was ok I liked the feelings that were talked about in this, and the love for their child. But it seems like such a caucasian focused already coming from a place of privilege to restart life even if it meant a type of personal growth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I've read every book my Nicholas Sparks and was looking forward to this one. I was very disappointed with this book. I would not recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Sweetest Book Such an emotion filled book as per usual from Nicholas Sparks. Really pulls at the heart strings!
Date published: 2018-06-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from this story is such a sweet one, an amazing father/daughter relationship this story about a single father struggling to raise his daughter on his own and trying to work and make a living too. it gets me right in the heart strings... i really liked this book

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicholas Sparks is my favourite author I have read a lot of his books and he has never dissapointed me. This was a very good book.
Date published: 2018-06-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Sparks! I am in my 30's and have loved Nicolas Sparks since I was a highschooler and Two by Two is another one to add to my favourite lists. Sparks, as usual, does a superb job at creating characters that you love and hate at the same. From the perspective of a single father (rare!) it tells the trials and tribulations of being in a loveless marriage, to dealing with separation and distance and how the love from those close to you can make through all obstacles.
Date published: 2018-05-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heart Warming and believable! I really enjoyed this book. I am not a big reader... but this one I couldn't put down! :)
Date published: 2018-05-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Twist to His Classic Storyline I absolutely love everything about this book; the fact that it was written about a single father - which you hardly ever hear - how it doesn't make the mother look like she was completely heartless and how he still involves his classic love tale in the story. I lost my original copy years ago but have full intentions of re-purchasing because I loved this book so much!
Date published: 2018-05-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Give it a chance Although this story line wasn't one of my favourites from Nicholas Sparks, I will read every story he writes.
Date published: 2018-04-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first Nicholas Sparks book I loved this book. I could not put it down. I have recently purchased more of his books to read.
Date published: 2018-03-27
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favorite from Nicholas Sparks I found that the story dragged a little and I was having a hard time connecting with the main character. The story did seem to pick up a little mid way through the book but the ending left me wanting a little more.
Date published: 2018-03-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Real story line This is a great book, it centers around a very realistic story line. Simple and real, couldnt put it down
Date published: 2018-03-11
Rated 3 out of 5 by from An easy read I'm not really a fan of Nicholas Sparks but decided to read this book since I enjoyed 'See me'. The story is easy to follow and cute. However the characters annoyed me a bit; husband desperate to please his wife by giving in all the time and not standing up to himself. I recommend this book nonetheless, if you want something super light to read.
Date published: 2018-03-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not his best work Was excited to read this but I found it really started dragging along in the middle. The plot is promising but I felt like it got really boring at times, lots of plot points could have been cut out to make it more interesting. I also couldn't stand Vivian as a character!! Every mention of her infuriated me.
Date published: 2018-02-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete flop If you want to experience a marriage crumble in real-time, with all the painful and pointless arguments and petty attacks that would happen in real-life, then this is the book for you. The romance is barely part of the story. Instead, it's about 350 pages of this man's marriage dissolving before your eyes. You know where the story is going from the get go, and yet somehow it still takes hundreds of pages to finally get to that point. I am a Nicholas Sparks fan, and have read almost all of his books. This one is by far my least favourite, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Date published: 2018-02-12
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another good book by Nicholas Sparks This was a good read with a wonderful writing style and story line. Different from his other books in that it focuses on a different type of relationship - that between father and daughter.
Date published: 2018-02-03
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay I found this book a little slow. I started reading it on vacation.. didn't finish it and it took me a while to pick it back up again to finish. Overall it was still a good book.
Date published: 2018-01-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Book ever This is a really great book to read. Really good for teens and adults.
Date published: 2018-01-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was okay. I never finished the book... it's just sitting by my side table.
Date published: 2018-01-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good I think this might be one of the better Nicholas Sparks book since god knows when. It's very different from his past novels, since this focuses on the lives of a family and the relationship the parents have with their daughter. I thought it was very cute and definitely tugged at my heart strings :) Nice change from his other sappy love stories.
Date published: 2018-01-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heart warming This book is one of the most beautiful books I have read in quite some time. Nicholas Sparks has a way to make his readers feel deep emotions and put themselves in the characters' shoes. Once I started reading this book, I simply couldn't put it down until I had read the whole thing.
Date published: 2017-11-30

Date published: 2017-11-28
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent It was okay. The writing wasn't the best, but I guess I got what I paid for.
Date published: 2017-11-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great read! Interesting plot twist and themes ... divorce, father-daughter relationship.
Date published: 2017-10-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved it! It was different This book has a different perspective than your typical Nicholas Sparks book. It explains the dads side in a divorce. Totally suggest it.
Date published: 2017-10-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it Love the twist, the relationship between dad and daughter. Another hit. Would make a great movie.
Date published: 2017-10-25
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what I expected It was unexpected in a good way! Sparks gave this story line a different spin, but I couldn't put it down - I had to see what happened! The ending felt off track to the main story line, but overall a good read.
Date published: 2017-10-24
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not your typical Nicholas Sparks book While this wasn't the book I was expecting when I picked up a Nicholas Sparks novel, I couldn't put it down! An interesting take on the fathers perspective.
Date published: 2017-10-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I have always loved Nicholas Sparks' books. They are the reason I am a hopeless romantic and I love it, I own every book and read them more than once. What I can say is that this book is a little different... unexpected I would say. It's not like his typical romantic novels he has written. But a beautifully written story about the love of a father and daughter and the bond they share. It shows that dad are important too. I loved it, pulled at all my heart strings and It's just amazing how much detail he puts into his books. It's an amazing read, I highly recommend it!
Date published: 2017-10-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy read There hasn't been a Nicholas Sparks novel that I haven't read. So when this one came out it was definitely a must read! However it was didn't have the same pull that his typical novels had.
Date published: 2017-10-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different This book has a different perspective than your typical Nicholas Sparks book. I was very frustrated with the wife's character, however, this book this lived up the Nicholas Sparks' reputation. Lovely story about the father's side of divorce.
Date published: 2017-10-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good author Nicholas Sparks is always a favourite. This was a good read and from a different perspective. Usually dad is the one who leaves. Liked the relationship between father and daughter. Also liked the ending.
Date published: 2017-10-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different Different writing style then usual but it was a great read!
Date published: 2017-09-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from An okay read This book was an okay read, it wasn't like his usually stories and had a different writing style. It was still enjoyable and a good read but it wasn't as good as his other books.
Date published: 2017-09-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different than the usual Nicholas Sparks Received this book as a gift. Not the same as a traditional Nicholas Sparks story, but still a good read. Nice to see him try something a bit different - but I prefer his classic storylines a bit more.
Date published: 2017-09-20
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best I was a little disappointed in this book. I have read and loved all Nicholas Sparks' other books. I kept wondering as I was reading when was the story going to get going.....where was the plot? It's not his best book, but I am still a fan of his writing and will continue to read whatever he publishes.
Date published: 2017-09-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Yet another great read by Sparks. I hope this one gets turned into a movie like his others.
Date published: 2017-09-13

Date published: 2017-09-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful story Absolutely adore this book- a very easy read, the language flows so well. I love that as a busy Mum I can (reluctantly) put this book down and pick it up and know exactly what is happening and get back into the flow quickly. I found this book to really connect to me and be incredibly realistic and very believable.
Date published: 2017-08-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! As a Nicholas Sparks' fan, I had to read this as soon as I could. It did not disappoint! Different than his usual love stories, but a great read about a father and daughter!

Date published: 2017-08-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was ok I usually love Nicholas Sparks books, but this one was not one of my favourites. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, so it made it difficult for me to care what happened to them.

Date published: 2017-08-14
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was Disappointed I really had to push myself to get into this book and finish. This was a typical Sparks novel, in reverse. However, I found the main character to be boring, and lack depth. #plumreview

Date published: 2017-08-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing! Nicholas Sparks has outdone himself in Two by Two. Mr Sparks is an excellent author and I have enjoyed all of his books he has written. While looking for a new book to read & having recently learned that my brother had passed without my family's knowledge, Two by Two passed in front of me over & over again. This book has helped me come to terms with my loss & realize how blessed I was to have had the relationship between my brother & I. Keep up the good work Nicholas Sparks & I will keep reading & being influenced by your stories!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this book I really enjoyed this book.....Nicholas Sparks made me really feel for the characters
Date published: 2017-04-26
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Was Expecting I've been finding myself slightly disappointed with Nicholas Sparks last few novels, but I hoped that this pattern would change when I picked up Two by Two. However, I came out of this one still feeling vastly underwhelmed, and this book was definitely not at all what I was expecting. I felt the reader was given no build up as to why the main character's marriage failed, and instead it was just used as a convenient plot point. While I'll continue to love Sparks' earlier works, I think I'll be taking a break from his new novels for awhile.
Date published: 2017-04-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this. I cried my heart out, worth reading.
Date published: 2017-04-12

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicholas Sparks Guilty Pleasure I am always excited to hear about a new Nicholas Sparks release. This book had me angry at times, its not your classic NS love story; which i liked and was surprised by. Highly recommend for all NS fans!
Date published: 2017-02-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Different This is not your typical Nicholas Sparks novel. I am not sure if his own divorce had an affect on this one, or he is just adapting as a writer, but it was just not the same. Still an ok quick and easy read though.
Date published: 2017-02-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great read Not usually the genre of book I read but I really enjoyed it! It pulls at your heart strings in many different ways.
Date published: 2017-02-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very heart warming novel I am a Nicholas Sparks avid reader for many years. I thought Two by Two, was well written and his description of his feelings towards his wife were well written as well. The daughter London was obviously very torn between her mother and her father. I loved the family dynamics that Russ had with his parents and his sister. In my opinion, the ending did feel a bit "unfinished" but perhaps that could lead to another novel, where this one left off. It was a page turner, and a very heart warming novel.
Date published: 2017-02-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Liked it This is certainly different for Nicholas Cage, but this just demonstrates his versatility as an author. I recommend this book.
Date published: 2017-02-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this! I bought this for my birthday last year and I finally got a chance to read it! it definitely is different from his usual form of writing but I do think it's refreshing. If you're not much of a Nicholas Sparks fan I really do think your opinion may be changed after reading this novel!
Date published: 2017-02-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I enjoyed reading this book. It was different from any of his other books though equally well written. The end felt a little unfinished to me though I felt like there should have been a bit more.
Date published: 2017-02-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good book. I enjoyed reading this book. It was a page turner but not the typical Nicholas Sparks. Different but yet very interesting. It was very sad but I would recommend definitely.
Date published: 2017-02-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I enjoyed this book, it's very well written. It's not as romantic as most Nicholas Sparks books but it is a good story.
Date published: 2017-01-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different but good Not the typical sparks book. If you are new to Sparks I wouldn't start with this one. It's slower paced and less of a romantic story line. Still decent and I would recommend.
Date published: 2017-01-29
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow and long I found this book rather slow and it was quite long. Not the best Nicholas Sparks book.
Date published: 2017-01-28
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapointed I love Nicholas Sparks novels and so badly wanted to love this book, but it did not develop the way his other novels do. I expected it to turn around as I got further into it, but it didn't. It's almost 500 pages and could have had the same impact in 250. Would not recommend this one.
Date published: 2017-01-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two by Two I really enjoyed this book, though the beginning definitely hints that it's not going to be a happy book, I still found I was surprised by events in the plot. Sad novel, but I couldn't but it down!
Date published: 2017-01-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two by Two I really enjoyed this book, though the beginning definitely hints that it's not going to be a happy book, I still found I was surprised by events in the plot. Sad novel, but I couldn't but it down!
Date published: 2017-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was disappointed I found this book a bit depressing. I felt so bad for the main character and kept hoping for a break in the mood that didn't really come til the very end.
Date published: 2017-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy read but long Typical Nicholas Sparks book, good story but unfortunately very drawn out.
Date published: 2017-01-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long but Good I found the plot was very repetitive. It was the same settings and scenarios within 400 pages. The book could have been much shorter. It was a good story-line and a better ending. I'm sure any Nicholas Sparks fan will enjoy this story.
Date published: 2017-01-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Waaaay toooo loooong! Good story about a man's real life struggles but could have been written in 300 pages instead of the 485! I wanted to give up on it a few times but after reading the reviews, I decide to push through and continue since readers mentioned it was slow until the half way point.
Date published: 2017-01-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good read Not my favourite of Sparks but worth the read
Date published: 2017-01-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicholas Sparks does it again I could not put this book down - I was so drawn in. I felt so angry at the guy for being so blind to his evil wife. I felt so many emotions reading this book - which also brought me to tears and made me smile. What a lucky little girl to have such an amazing Dad who loved and cared for her despite his world falling down around him!
Date published: 2017-01-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved it! Nicholas Sparks is a really good author, this book was great.
Date published: 2017-01-18
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ended Well I have read just about every Nicholas Sparks book and this was a first for me. Usually I can never put his books down, but I had to force myself to push through this one. As many other reviews have stated, it did start VERY slow. I found the last quarter of the book the most intriguing. The bond between father and daughter was precious, definitely a tear jerker.
Date published: 2017-01-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not His Best, But Worth The Read Though it started off quite slow for me, I did enjoy this book overall. I don't usually read books with a male narrator, but I found it interesting to do so. Warning for those who choose to read it: tears will definitely be shed (as is the case with any Nicholas Sparks book or movie).
Date published: 2017-01-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from not worth the read Nicholas Sparks is always a favorite author of mine, but this was the exception! The wife in the book was terrible, the husband's character around her was weak. It was hard to read actually. The overall message is good, but the story and plot was boring and weak! Not worth the money!
Date published: 2017-01-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't love it I enjoy Nicholas Sparks, but this was a let down. I found it slow and plodded on through until the end, but isn't one I would read again.
Date published: 2017-01-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read this Intriguing, makes you think
Date published: 2017-01-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not great As a Sparks fan, I preordered this book with the assumption that I wouldn't be let down. While it was a good read, I have to admit that it was his first novel that I felt a bit disappointed with. It just didn't quite live up to his usual level of excellence that I have come to expect from him.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different than most I own almost all of the Nicholas Sparks book because he is an amazing author - this one was a little different than most - because a love story is not the main focus of the book - instead its a family dynamics story about the love between a father and daughter

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute story but boring and predictable It was a cute storyline but it could have been cut down way shorter. Too much description in certain parts that seemed unnecessary. The main character seemed to fake and too perfect, and it was hard to relate to or take him as a real human being. Coming from an emotional person, this wasnt a tear jerker at all, I didnt even feel a little bit or sadness or remorse or anything. Save your money and go to the library instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relationships..... 3.5 Every so often, I have to take a break from my usual fare of mysteries and suspense, and curl up with a book guaranteed to tug at the heartstrings. Nicholas Sparks books are a good choice for that. His latest release is Two By Two. Russ is a man who seems to have it all - beautiful wife and daughter, successful career and a lovely home. Yes, things in the relationship aren't quite what they were in the beginning, but everyone's marriage goes through those up and down times, right? But for Russ, those down times take a further downward spiral when he finds himself without a wife, without a job and now the main carer for his daughter. "When you start trying to figure out what went wrong - or, more specifically where you went wrong - it's like peeling an onion. there's always another layer, another mistake in the past or a painful memory that stands out, which then leads one back even further in time, and then even further, in search of the ultimate truth. I've reached the point where I've stopped trying to figure it out: The only thing that really matters now is learning enough to avoid making the same mistakes again." Oh, my goodness, I don't know when I have had such a strong dislike for a character - and so early on in a book! I'm talking about Russ's wife Vivian. She's spoilt, obnoxious and oblivious to her own behavior. She may love her daughter, but she's not a great role model at all. I did enjoy Russ's transformation from weekend/after work parent to dad who does it all. His relationship with his daughter London changes and grows over the course of a year. Russ himself changes as well. I did find myself annoyed with him in the beginning of the book - for all that Vivian is a manipulator, Russ is an enabler. He kowtows to her every wish and whim, accepts her criticism and tries even harder to make her happy. I wanted him to stand up for himself - but Russ is a nice guy - to his own detriment. His obsequious behaviour isn't great role model material either. Sparks excels at relationship exploration in his novels. The husband/wife, parent/child dynamic is explored in not just Russ's family unit, but also through the eyes of his parents, his sister and her partner and a longtime friend and her child. I quite enjoyed the cast of supporting characters - especially sister Marge and partner Liz. And yes, there has to be a romantic thread as well. I won't spoil things, but I liked the way Sparks wrote and handled this part of his plotting. There's no doubt as to what direction the book is going to take - and I was right in my predictions. But, I'm not thrilled with the ending. 'Nuff said without spoilers. Two By Two is a slower paced book, taking it's time to reach the final pages. I think it probably could have been shortened up a wee bit.
