I Am Number Four meets the TV show Fringe in this thrilling, high-stakes sequel to Unraveling.

Four months after Ben returned to his home universe, Janelle believes she'll never see him again. Her world is still devastated, but civilization is slowly rebuilding, and life is resuming some kind of normalcy—until Interverse agent Taylor Barclay shows up, asking for Janelle's help. Somebody from an alternate universe is kidnapping people and selling them on different Earths. And Ben is the prime suspect. When Janelle learns that someone she cares about—someone from her own world—is one of the missing, she knows that she has to help Barclay, regardless of the danger.

Now Janelle has five days to track down the real culprit, locate the missing people before they're lost forever, and reunite with the boy who stole her heart. But as the clues add up, Janelle realizes that she may not know Ben as well as she thought. Can she uncover the truth before everyone she cares about is killed?

In this heart-pounding sequel to Unraveling, author Elizabeth Norris explores the sacrifices we make to save the people we love and the worlds we'll travel to find them.

Elizabeth Norris briefly taught high school English and history before trading the San Diego beaches and sunshine for Manhattan's chilly winters. She harbors dangerous addictions to guacamole, red velvet cupcakes, sushi, and Argo Tea, fortunately not all together.Unravelingis her first novel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great sequel I liked this one a lot better than the first in the series. It had some of the same issues, but got a lot better at other things. The romance sort of took a back seat in this one, which I liked, because it meant there was more time for Janelle to shine. Janelle is just the sort of heroine I love reading about - determined and collected and active and aware and unstoppable. I really liked reading about her and Barclay and I would have been just fine without Ben entirely. I think she would have been, too, come to think of it. The romance was fairly rushed and they surmounted some pretty insurmountable issues pretty casually with the help of a good make-out session or two. It was a bit unrealistic in that respect and I think Janelle was pretty right when she tried to push him away or get realistic about their relationship. I just wish she'd been able to follow through. It was the only time she faltered in her realism and kick-butt straightforwardness, and I didn't like it much. The thing about this book is that it is so inundated with detail and thought tangents and characters and intricate plot that it's a bit overwhelming as a reader. It took me about a hundred pages to stop feeling assaulted by the information overload and to sort of sink into it. Once I got there, though, it was a fast thrill ride and I loved it. Overall impressions were that I needed more Barclay and Cecily and less Ben, and that Janelle is a pretty awesome heroine. I'd recommend this book, but I also recommend setting aside a good couple hours to read it in one go, cause it's that kind of book.

Editorial Reviews

Praise for UNRAVELING: “If Veronica Mars snatched a case from Mulder and Scully, you’d get this fast-paced page-turner. With a heroine full of moxie, wicked surprises around every corner, and non-stop action, UNRAVELING is an irresistible thriller.”
