Don’t fear Death. Desire him.

Cassius “Cass” Garvan is the last Reaper. One of the baddest of the bad…Cass can literally kill with a touch.  He’s the bounty hunter who always brings in his prey, undead or alive.  This time, he has a new target…the all-too-tempting Amber Fortune.  Hunting her down was the easy part. Giving her up? Cass isn’t so sure that he can let her go.

Amber has been on the run for decades, and she isn’t about to surrender herself to the Reaper. Sure, maybe she does have a weakness for bad boys. Maybe she does like guys who have dark sides—and a man can’t get darker than Death. And when Cass kisses her, she doesn’t fear his touch. She wants him. Wanting a Reaper can be a very dangerous thing.

When Amber finds herself trapped with the Reaper for forty-eight hours, she knows that she is in for the most dangerous time of her very long life.  If she hopes to escape the torment coming her way, then Amber has to convince Cass to let her escape.  Does Death have a heart? Amber is about to find out. She’ll use every trick in her playbook to get Cass on her side.  But even as she works to seduce him, Amber has to be very careful and not let Cass break through her control. Because everyone knows…

Once you fall for Death, there is no turning back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Undead Or Alive" by Cynthia Eden. Book 3 in the Bad Things series. I just finished reading this book May 30, 2017. This is my review. My favourite book of the series...so far! Cass (Cassius) and Amber are new characters to the series so you can totally read this book as a stand alone. However, if you read the series in order, you will understand the ongoing series plot line about twins Luke and Leo and their prophecy much better. Cass is a Reaper. He's been working for Luke and his latest mission is to capture a woman named Amber. Cass usually doesn't ask questions about the jobs he taken but when Amber doesn't smell like a paranormal, he's pretty sure she's human. And he won't be doing this job without something in return. He wants to be able to touch a woman. He wants to find his mate and not kill her with his hands. Because the old stories about Reapers are not exactly true. His death power is only in his hands. And the gloves he wears are the only thing keeping others alive if he touches them. Amber is nothing like any woman Cass has seen before. But can he give her up when he brings Amber to Luke and Luke fulfills his deal? Amber can't believe there's a Reaper following her! She was really hoping Luke and Leo had forgotten about her and her powers. When Cass magically bonds her to him for 48 hours, she's stunned. But Cass wrongly thinks she human! Maybe she can use that to her advantage. Because she will NOT be brought back to Luke! The problem is, she can only get 5 feet away from him! Which makes their sleeping arrangements...interesting. Absolutely loved this book! The story line starts off quick and the twists and turns to the plot start right away. Great buildup to finding out what kind of paranormal creature Amber is. I don't give spoilers in my reviews so all I can say is this book is fantastic! Lots of action. Lots of drama. Excellent chemistry between Cass and Amber. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. I highly recommend it.
