Read the conclusion to Stephen King’s “harrowing, powerful” (The Washington Post) #1 New York Times bestselling novel that inspired the hit CBS television drama...

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full of Emotion Another great book from a great author. Full of highs and lows, action and emotion. I was full of emotion and sometimes had to put the book away as I couldn't cry at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Under the dome Great writing As always from Stephen King. Way better than the tv adaptation as this has a conclusion. Also a very different story and characters, i like both versions, just feel the series is gettinf more and more outlandish and hope it doesnt descend inro te totally ridiculous. Highly recommend the book.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boring As Hell I only made it to page 500 then it was like pulling teeth to read the rest and I love Stephen King but this book is boring

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stupid Ending King had me hooked until the end. Very disappointing ending.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Riveting and horrifying I was compelled to continue reading even though the story horrified me. Only the second Steven King I have read and maybe the last. What an imagination to create such a plot.Big Jim should drive fear into the heart of anyone dealing with used car salesmen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Under the Dome As disappointing as the "Lost" Series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Under the Dome I first heard about Under the Dome as as tv mini series. I watched some of it so I couldn't wait to read the book because "usually" the book version is always better. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting but I felt left down upon finishing the novel. Most of the story was exciting and fast paced. 3-4 way through the plot started to lag and the ending felt rushed. I have always enjoyed S.King stories but this had the potential to be much better than it was for the ending at least. For the first time in my life regarding a King novel, I wouldn't recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Under the dome Started a little bit complicayed but later I couldn't put the book down. Interesting way to approach the concept of how we're distroying our own world.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I had great hope for this I love Stephen King, but found this only average.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buenisimo Great story. Grabs your attention right from the beginning. You really get to love and hate the characters in this book. Another great story by S.K.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buenisimo The story grabbed me from the start. There are so many characters that I wanted to find out what happened to them all as the story progressed. Some I really grew to dislike and I didn't want to read that part. Others I quite enjoyed and wanted to know more. In typical Stephen king style, he went I to great detail on things he didn't need to and skipped over parts that could use detail. Over all it's a decent book with an interesting ending. I wouldn't read it more than once though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buenisimo I found this book to be particularly creepy and left me frightened as well as reflective. When we disregard the value of non human lives are we more or less evil compared to when we purposely hurt fellow human beings?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buenisimo This is a great book that I have not been able to put down. Chester's Mill is a town filled with fantastic characters that you know are lurking in any community. The situation with the dome causes people to change, and this is captured very well by Stephen King.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buenisimo Great book, really made me think about the society we live in. I read the book first and liked it much better than the t.v show. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thought provoking read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buenisimo This book is exceptional. It has everything you would want: characters you love to hate, mysterious over-shadowing plot, brilliant writing, and of course, shocking plot twists! This was my first Stephen King book, and even though it's over one-thousand pages, I was reading 200-300 pages a day. Definitely my favourite book by my favourite author!
