For many summers, Pedlar Press publisher and in-house editor Beth Follett directed the Creative Writing programme at Centauri Summer Arts Camp [www.centauri.on.ca], a wonderful summer artspace that helps to alter the painful geek identities young artists carry throughout a school year into those of emerging practicing artists of every stripe. In celebration of Centauri's tenth year, a collection of the finest writing was gathered, including works by very young campers through to older campers-turned-counsellors, counsellors-turned-directors, and other gorgeous permutations of the camp artist. This collection has proven itself to be an extremely valuable tool for teachers of theatre and creative writing for young people.
Laura Farina's first book of poetry, This Woman Alphabetical, won the2006 Archibald Lampman Award. She has sat on the Editorial Board for Arc: Canada's National Poetry Magazine and taught Creative Writing to young people in Ontario and Chicago.
