about

After seven hundred years of life, Marguerite Argeneau finally has a career. Well, the start of one, anyway. She's training to be a private investigator, and her first assignment is to find an immortal's mother. It seemed simple enough, until Marguerite wakes up one evening to find herself at the wrong end of a sword. Now she realizes she's in way over her head.

Julius Notte wants to protect Marguerite, and not because someone just tried to take her head off. She doesn't know it yet, but she's his lifemate and he's determined to woo her. It's been over five hundred years since he last courted a woman, but surely the techniques haven't changed. Now if only he can keep her alive—so to speak—so they can have that happily-ever-after.

Lynsay Sands is the nationally bestselling author of the Argeneau/Rogue Hunter vampire series, as well as numerous historicals and anthologies. She's been writing since grade school and considers herself incredibly lucky to be able to make a career out of it. Her hope is that readers can get away from their everyday stress through her ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Centuries of Dogs Each Named Julius This book is tightly linked to the previous book ‘Vampires are Forever’ so do read them in sequence! Marguerite’s life we have learned through the books was anything but ideal as her Husband Jean-Claude was not her true life mate & she suffered the consequences of being controlled for hundreds of years. Her happiness was derived solely though her children & she took great joy in playing matchmaker for many of her family Members to find their perfect mates. Now Julius is introduced & we find out that he indeed is Marguerite’s life mate & surprise they already have child together except that she does not remember any of it! The tale twists & turns, leaving you guessing as to who played a role or what might have happened to separate the pair. This is currently the last work in the Argeneau Novels, Marguerite’s story being later in the series made a lot of sense to me & this book seemed to wrap up a lot of loose ends. I am very keen to see that perhaps the follow-up offering from Sands will be Christian’s story!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Read Read Vampires are Forever first, then this one. This is Marguerite's story of what happens is Europe. It's an old love, lost love and reunited love, but unless they figure out who is trying to kill her, Marguerite and her lifemate Julius may never have their happy ending. Who doesn't want Christian to find out who his mother is, why doesn't Julius answer there questions about Christian's mother, and why are they targeting Marguerite? It's good to the last page.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Read Enjoyed this story, it tied up alot of lose ends. Things are revealed and the truth isn't what you were led to believe. I love Julius. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This book was witty, funny and intriguing. It has one of the best story lines out of all the books in the series yet. Lynsay Sands definitely keeps you on your toes with this one. As usual the laughs keep coming and the books are always a sexy read!
